Description: The Plough is a quintessential English country pub with stunning views from our pond side garden over the Brede Valley with the sea as a backdrop. Situated on the Kent and East Sussex border and less than two miles from the medieval town of Rye, we enjoy a fantastic larder of local produce, from the freshest of fish landed in Rye and Hastings every day, to the wonderful delights from the Romney Marsh such as lamb and beef as well as the best of seasonal vegetables. With all this on our doorstep, we offer a good choice of local beers, ciders, wines and freshly prepared food, from our tapas, to our original choice of freshly prepared dishes and our homemade ice creams.

Had a really good meal which was very well cooked.
Excellent steak and the sticky toffee pudding was incredible!
The staff were exceptionally friendly and efficient.
Thoroughly recommend.

We were greeted by the owner on arrival who was extremely friendly, (drinks were served by his twin brother), the menu was varied and very reasonably priced. The service was superb, but above all, the food was excellent, the homemade soda bread was a great start, and the main course was far superior to normal pub food, definately restaurant standard. Relaxing evening, will definately return if we're back down that way again.

After reading great reviews about The Plough, we decided to try it for ourselves and we were not disappointed. A varied selection offered on the lunch menu, well cooked and extremely tasty. Friendly service and a warm welcome.

We visited the Plough for the first time even though we only live a few miles away. What a find! They are so welcoming. There were three of us and we had dinner there - it was delicious. The homemade soda bread was beautifully crunchy on the outside and soft in the middle. The trio of scallops was super - as were the other meals we had. Some of the ideas behind the food were really good - such as scooping your own stilton rather than a cheeseboard. It all added up to a really relaxing evening. We will definitely return

After reading some great reviews on trip advisor we decided to pay The Plough a visit for Sunday lunch. I was taken aback by how fabulous it was. I love going for Sunday Lunch but am normally disappointed but not today. Wonderful home cooked food, fantastic staff and service and a gorgeous traditional pub with log fire. We will definitely being going back to sample more from their menu. I strongly recommend you pay this pub a visit. Cordelia and Dan.
