This was recommended for good fish & chips. Starters, whitebait and prawn salad where very fresh and tasty, Fish chips & mushy peas (x2) the salad that came with one was a proper salad (not just a couple of lettuce leaves!). Very light, non greasy batter. Overall very tasty and a pleasant evening. Staff and locals are very friendly. Would recommend this pub, it has a beer garden that looks nice and clean and tidy but too cold to go outside (it is May afterall).

A large group of us went to the Inkerman last friday, whilst staying at the nearby holiday park. It was quite busy, so I was glad that we booked. The menu was varied - although the lamb shanks was not available. I had the pork chop, egg and chips, which was delicious. Others had the fish and chips or the sausage and mash. It was all good. Considering that we were a large party, the service was quite efficient, although the kitchen staff did seem a bit rushed. At about a tenner a meal, prices were reasonable. The Hastings Bitter from the handpump tasted good. i would thoroughly recommend this pub, which must beat eating on the camp site.

We enjoyed some lovely fish and chips here whilst staying in a B and B nearby. We were made to feel welcome by the locals who were happy to include us in their banter!

The Inkerman Arms is a basic, down to earth, friendly local pub that sells excellent fish and chips, probably because Mark the chef uses really tasty beer batter. The bar is always full of locals having a pint, but also walkers and holidaymakers having a tasty meal. In the winter there is a roaring log fire, but in the summer you can sit outside in the garden to eat. It has a relaxed atmosphere which we always enjoy and we are made to feel very welcome.
