Lovely food. Pub was busy but a seperate dining area. Excellent value at £12.50 for 2 courses with generous portions. Had a good sized oval table that accomodated 8 of us companiably.

“Very warm welcome”
Reviewed September 30, 2012 via mobile

Very warm welcome. Good selection of beers and ciders. Fresh food cooked well. Catered for my wife's allergies ok. If she's happy so am I. Good prices on food. Food is fresh, locally sourced, home cooked. Good sized portions. I had a burger for lunch which was so good I went back for dinner in the evening. I had Guiness and beef pie. There was loads of meat in the pie and it tasted great.
Staff very relaxed with personality. If I lived in Rye this would be my local

“Wet or Dry Try Me.”
Reviewed September 24, 2012

Went there on a wet, windy and miserable day and the atmosphere was warm and friendly, the real ale limited but what there was was first class. We had the Sunday roast and it was top hole, one of the best ever, plenty of beef, 5 veg and well cooked, washed down with a pint Cotleighs excellent bitter. Tried the Italian home made apple cake which again was the tops, finished off with an espresso and a brandy and did not take much persuation by the friendly folk in the corner to have a swift half. A splendid place to spend a couple of hours, even more so when its as wet as yesterday (23.9.12). Excellent and friendly staff and dogs are welcome to. I am in Rye 3 or 4 times a year and I know where I shall be heading next time.
