Where to begin?? We have just spent 4 days in Rye in very British weather. I had read reviews on this restaurant before we went but hadn't dared to hope that we might eat there as we had not booked in advance. On our first day in the town, pottering past in the pouring rain, the delightful lady owner noticed us perusing the menu and threw open her door and invited us in. We arranged to eat there on 22nd May - our last night of the mini-break - and it was a fantastic experience. The welcome, the food, the wine, the service, the ambience of the place; everything was simply divine. We were made to feel - and indeed so was everyone else - that we were the most important guests in the place - now that's talent! They even found some gluten free bread for my husband. I only wish we lived closer - but we'll definitely go back to Rye specifically to eat there again.
