Though it took us many tries to find the place, the NT site directions aren't very helpful, I was happy with the result when we finally did pull down the one-lane road. There is a car park past the place . Though the house was interesting, especially because it is kept in the same manner as when the Woolf's lived there last century, what you really come for are the gardens which are magnificent. I found the staff friendly and very informative. Definitely worth a visit!

The garden is a real jewel - somewhat small but what a magnificent variety of plants. We went ob a beautiful day and it was quite magical.

This was owned by the novelist Virginia Woolfe .Fabulous country garden and home manned by the most informed guides of the NT.
Wish I had time to stay longer - I shall be back.

Two/three rooms in a tiny cottage on the edge of the south downs. A garden with a writing room (shed) in. The best part of our visit was leaving. Found the interior of the cottage to be nothing special and the rudeness of the staff to match the overall feeling of the place itself. A very short visit, you would be hard pressed to spend more than half an hour there. Go back again? Not even if I had guest staying who wanted to visit.
