“Sussex haven”
Reviewed January 28, 2016 for a stay in May 2014

We stayed at the Barns for my boyfriend’s birthday. Our room was cosy, well appointed and perfect for a weekend away from London. Bryony couldn’t have been more helpful, and breakfast in the main house was gorgeous - all cooked on a roaring aga with dogs and children a-plenty - it felt like staying with a slightly better version of your own family - we hope to come back!

Just back from a lovely stay at Blue Door Barns. We were treated by a family member as a wedding gift. We stayed in the Nook and our friends in the Sailors. The converted barns were tastefully decorated and very comfortable. We went round to the main house for breakfast and a lovely warm welcome from Emma & Bryony who cooked us all a tasty breakfast. This place really is a little gem, and we have returned relaxed. Hope to return in the future.

“Exceptional B&B for Glyndebourne”
Reviewed August 5, 2015 for a stay in July 2015

Stayed here for one night when my mum and I went to Glyndebourne and it was fantastic. The room was beautiful with a lovely shower and was spotlessly clean. We had originally booked The Little Lodge (because of my mum's fighter jet volume snoring) but were asked very nicely if we would be able to switch to The Nook as there had been a slight miscommunication from a larger family who were staying there before and wanted to stay another night. We were happy to swap and Bryony was very apologetic and polite and gave us a complimentary bottle of prosecco with our Glyndebourne picnic to make up for it.

We paid for a picnic and porter service for Glyndebourne and I have to say we most definitely had the best looking picnic table and picnic out of everyone there and all for a lot less than Glyndebourne charge for their picnics. The food was absolutely delicious - especially the fillet steak- and it was set up in a beautiful location by the lake for us. The breakfast was great - loved that you can order healthy options like smoked salmon with poached egg- and Bryony was very welcoming and friendly (along with the very cute dogs!). We also booked massages for the morning which again were brilliant and we were so relaxed we didn't want to drive home!

The only thing i'd say is that it's quite hard to find the turning from the main road so perhaps a bigger sign would be good!

“Excellent stay, can't wait to return!”
Reviewed July 31, 2015 for a stay in July 2015

I've just got back from a lovely one bight's stay at Blue Door Barns as arranged by my boyfriend as a welcome home surprise.
We stayed in the Sailor's House which was quaint & comfortable, we didn't want to get out of bed! The place was very clean and beautifully decorated, which can be said throughout the other rooms as well as the breakfast room which is served in the main house. The decor is something I loved, I wanted all the beautiful trinkets.
Emma & Bryony are wonderful hosts, whipping up an unbelievable breakfast and generally being amazingly hospitable - you really do get great service here and you can see how much they really do care about their guests.
We're already trying to find out when we can come back! A lovely place to escape to :)

“Most wonderful uk break..!”
Reviewed July 14, 2015 for a stay in June 2015

Me and my friend had the most lovely time staying in The Nook for a few days to get away from the stresses of everyday life.

I cannot fault anything... hospitality = more than friendly and very helpful, the accommodation = beautifully decorated (one of the owners is an interior decorator --- www.bluedoorbarnsinteriors.com ---for more details, breakfast = so delicious and catered to my gluten free needs with no qualms, and finally massages and facials = the BEST I've ever had!!!

I loved my stay here so so much, and I cannot wait to go back with family and friends to treat them to a wonderful getaway near the fab town of Brighton... There's so much to do and see..!

Thanks again ladies for one of the best breaks I've ever been on x

“Beautiful location, gorgeous Lodge, wonderful breakfast Hamper AND Pet Friendly! Perfect !!!”
Reviewed May 17, 2015 for a stay in May 2015

Blue Door Barns have left no stone unturned when considering their guests comfort, the accommodation has been beautifully done and is simply gorgeous, it will not disappoint!

I stayed in Little Lodge with my two spaniels (being pet friendly was the primary reason for my booking!) but what I found far outweighed all expectations. Plenty of room, very tastefully furnished and a secure field directly behind the accommodation for dog walking!

The hamper provided for my stay was incredible - cookies, bread, filter coffee, free range eggs, local bacon, muesli, milk, raspberries, orange juice, butter. Blue Door Barns think of everything.

Bryony herself is just lovely, we also had the chance to ride out together across the Downs - another highly recommended plus point. Blue Door Barns organise everything for you, all you have to do is turn up and ride.

Very professional indeed and worth every penny, I cannot recommend Blue Door Barns highly enough.

“A birthday treat”
Reviewed May 11, 2015 for a stay in May 2015

An absolute gem. Stylish, smart and sassy. Organised as a surprise escape for a special birthday - this gift really delivered ! Emma and Bryony make you feel like a welcome and cherished guest - not a processed holiday traveller. BDB exude genuine charm and luxury - all the touches of lux- boutique without the 'turn down' service clichés. Heavenly spa treatments delivered with expertise and panache in the kicked-back snug - highly recommended. Breakfast a triumph of style and taste - great food in a gloriously styled vintage chic sitting/dining room with tunes by Lady Day. Riding at nearby Bevern Bridge stables, shopping at Lewes and excellent dining options nearby. Quirky. Divine. Hopefully will be back. Will definitely recommend.
