Description: Here at Maggie's we're in our third decade of serving you hearty portions of the freshest fish, cooked to order, in a warm and welcoming cafe - the same traditional family-friendly approach as when Margaret Banfield first put her name above the door. We're right on the Fisherman's Beach - so you'll enjoy some spectacular views while you tuck in to our fish, direct from the market below us and our specials are straight off the boats with the morning catch - keeping a carbon footprint of less than 20 miles. You can't get fresher than that! Maggie's is licensed too, so you can enjoy a glass of wine or a beer with your meal. We are open six days a week, but it's advisable to call us ahead to reserve your table, and if you've got a special occasion, we welcome parties of up to 40 guests.

“great food”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 22, 2013

The reputation of Maggies locally, is not unjustified! The fish is fresh, beautifully cooked in light batter, and helpings are very generous - all at a reasonable price. I've never tasted better anywhere. But if you want to go, BOOK ahead in pleanty of time - only a few tables. This is the first choice of everyone local.
choice.

“Great fish n chips cafe”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 16, 2013 via mobile

Had lunch there today, great food fresh cod and haddock, plates were too small for large amount of fish upon them! Great light batter, good view of sea, do book as gets fully booked, only accepts cash and cheques, car park at rear.

“Simply the Best”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 15, 2013

We have eaten here every so often since discovering it a few years ago. The quality and quantity is consistently brilliant. This is not one of those arty-farty 'gourmet' places where a miniscule piece of food is accompanied by a smear of some 'jus' (or sauce, as it is called in English!). My only criticism is that the plates are a bit small to cope with the amount of food! I would recommend reserving a table - sometimes you need to do this a day or two in advance.

“Great value Fish and Chips”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 7, 2013

Maggies is small, noisy and hard to find. Doesn't sound much until you do find it, get lucky enough to grab a table (better to book ahead) and taste the fish and chips. Large fillets of fish for very little money. The staff are very friendly and the service is quick. To find Maggies just head East along the prom towards the cliffs and tall black sheds (used to be used for drying and storing nets). Maggies is behind the sheds near the beach just where the cliff railway runs up and down.
