Whilst initially surprised at the location we were warmly met and enjoyed our stay. Whilst we did not have a problem with parking it could be an issue during the peak season. The room is comfortable but is lacking in size and solidly built people will find it a 'challenge', especially in the bathroom. We were impressed with the cleanliness of the room, it was spotless and appreciated all the amenities. The hosts are very nice and couldn't do enough for us.

We stayed here for a third time since last summer. Not only is the welcome always warm but the rooms have been consistantly clean and tidy. The breakfast is the best you will get anywhere and you can choose what you have which is a nice change. The rooms are easy to relax in and Phill & Michelle are always happy to help and advice if you wish...

Stayed at Minstels Rest as a base to go to the Carr Taylor Vineyard wine tour. This B & B is something a bit special. It is really friendly and the breakfast is really good - you preorder the night before and you even specify whether you want your toast with your cooked breakfast or after it - the attention to detail is brilliant. Michelle drove us to the vineyard and we rang her when we were ready to come back and she picked us up which meant we could sample to wines without worrying about having to drive. Phil recommended a fish and chip shop on the sea front which was excellent and is one of the top fish and chip shops in the country. The fish is so large they have to fold it in half to get it in the bag. We also used the chinese restarurant round the corner and that was excellent value as well. Minstrels Rest is really worth a visit.

Really enjoyed our stay here. Whilst the loction is not amazing we did embark on the 20 min drive to rye. On arrival the room was very clean and the owners really welcoming. Had a great nights sleep in our en suite, with all facilities new and sparkling. Breakfast was amazing with a wide choice cooked perfectly. The whole the place is themed medieval with a full suit of armour in the dining room

We stayed at the Minstrels Rest for the weekend of the Hastings Seafood and Wine Festival and were charmed by the medieval theme. Michelle and Phil were the perfect hosts and made our short stay very enjoyable. The room and bathroom were absolutely spotless, the bed extremely comfortable and there were many special touches, from tea and coffee making facilities to fluffy towels. Breakfast was delicious and the dining room was just the spot to chat to other guests. My title for this review is 'Hidden Gem' as it is in a very 'ordinary' residential street, but its location is handy for free parking and not too far from the centre of Hastings and our favourite wet fish shop!
Thank you Michelle and Phil, we hope to visit again and will be recommending you to friends and family!
