We booked a 4 day break here as part of the Sun's £9.50 deal and I am very glad we didnt pay full price. The caravan was clean and nice enough but very small compared to what I was expecting especially as we'd upgraded to a luxury caravan. We didnt spend much time there though so it wasnt a huge problem. We found there wasnt much on the site at all. The pool closed for a few hours every day and there were no slides in the indoor pool just the big one outside where the water was freezing and the slide was closed on mondays and fridays! Too big for my 4 year old too. Other than the pool there was the arcade, the club house, mash and barrel pub/restaurant and that was it really. The kids activities had to be booked in advance which was annoying as the sports drome was far away from our caravan and u couldnt book by phone. I found it very money grabbing of haven that they charged extra for activities such as going on the pool inflatables - £8 for getting the inflatables out when they could have done it for free and it costs them nothing. Entertainment was cheese central as is to be expected on these holidays but I didnt think it was of a great standard. Club house smelled of cheesy feet. Everything on site was pretty expensive and we probably could have gone to spain for the amount we spent. Hastings is nice and we did the smugglers caves, aquarium and camber sands beach even though the weather wasnt great. All in all my son enjoyed himself so we did too but Ill definitely choose a different part next year, or stick to going abroad.

Room Tip: If your bothered about having lots of space, upgrade to at least a deluxe

we went with the £9.50 sun holiday deal (as we do a couple of times a year) & upgraded so our caravan was slightly larger. no accommodation complaints, not bad compared to some we have stayed in, 2 adults & 2 kids.

I loved the park but my friend found it rather steep (she has walking problems) & when i mean steep it can be extremely steep (depending on where yr caraven is situated) ours was quite secluded & private & if the weather had been summery wld have been lovely on the 'patio' area. the space bowl wasnt open nor was the outside pool but can imagine it to be great if we ever get a summer.

we got a bus into hastings - extremely cheap for the 4 of us, nice town with lots of shops, eateries & attractions (smugglers is great!). also visited battle, beautiful town & visited the castle, very interesting.

the entertainment wasnt that good but we still had fun - bingo was a laff! cant wait to return some day!

Room Tip: if you have any form of walking problem/disability let them know in advance - the caravans are situated on a really really steep hill unsuitable for wheelchairs

Stayed for a week in a dog friendly van which you would have never known. All of the team are very approachable, helpful and friendly. The park itself is very well kept with plenty to do. For dog walkers there are 2 very big fields situated next to the park. The park is set on a hill so people with walking difficulties may struggle. Plenty to do in the area, i would definitely go back again.

This is the third time that we have taken a Sun Holiday and stayed in a Haven resort but first time staying at Combe Haven and also the last at this site. Our caravan was 5 The Poplars . We upgraded to a deluxe standard caravan but the word deluxe wasn't the word I would choose. Not enough plates cups cuttlery ... Uncomfortable mattresses on every bed where you could count every spring! One of the duvets were filthy so we asked for a replacement which again was dirty. So after another visit to reception we received a brand new one. Stale smelling bedrooms and a filthy breadbin and sticky work tops. windows also very dirty so pack your cleaning gear! When we went to go out for the evening we found that the lock on the door wouldn't lock . Looking at some of the chavs walking around the site you'd never leave caravan unlocked when empty! So after a three hour wait some of our group could not go out that evening ruining first night. Plus points were nice outdoor pool with warm changing rooms..Food at mash and barrel was good.Arcade a good size. The staff did also locate us in a good area without steep hills as requested.
