“My favourite B&B on this trip!”
Reviewed March 21, 2014

I was greeted at the door by the very friendly Anil, Senlac Guest House director, and his French employee, who was kind enough to carry my heavy luggage up to my room on the third floor. (And let me practice my Quebecois French with him!) I had opted for a non-ensuite but photographed the ensuite rooms during my stay, and will consider this for the next visit. My single room was spacious and immaculate, equipped with a sink, a small fridge and a lovely view of the street. They also provided me with a kettle to make tea and coffee, and delicious ginger stem cookies! The bathroom/shower located across the hall was a little cramped but sufficient. Internet was initially sketchy but they managed to improve it during my 3 night stay.

Senlac is perfectly located- a local let me know about the Brassey Steps, leading down to the Town Centre and the beach, a shortcut just to the right of the hotel and around the corner. It is under renovation and could be easily missed, but worth finding. An interesting collection of eclectic shops are at its base! Senlac was also a short 10 minute walk from the train station- a huge plus! I found a great local on the same street as the Brassey Steps- The Dripping Well, which is run by a charming ex-Londoner, Nick, and frequented by very friendly Hastings residents! Beside it is a rock bar with live music, which came recommended but I didn't have time to go. The bars are close enough to enjoy but far away enough to preserve quiet for a peaceful night's sleep!

We stayed in this hotel just one night, after deciding spending a weekend in Hastings to visit. The room was clean and new, the bed comfortable, it was near to town, and we were welcomed by friendly and helpful staff. We really liked this place!

Hotel room was small but absolutely immaculately clean, bright and tidy. Small bathroom but great use of space which meant you didn't feel too cramped and got to enjoy a fantastic hot shower in a good sized cubicle. The breakfast was lovely, the staff very helpful indeed and it was well located. Also great value for money. Not much I can say that is negative. If I was being ultra picky I would say that the room was missing a mirror (looked like one had come off the wall and not been replaced). Not an issue for me really but my wife would have liked one to help her get ready for the evening out.

Like previous reviews, our room was immaculate, very modern & very quiet (even with having a room facing the main street!), everything you need on a stay away from home. Lovely host, very helpful & friendly. Was easy to find, located a stones throw from the high street, sea front & train station with ample parking in nearby multi storey. Will definately be booking a room here again.

It's in a good location - close to the train station, close to the seafront and just a short walk to the old town. The room was great - with comfortable beds, heating, an iron and ironing board, an iPod dock, a sink, clean kettle, water and glasses by the bed. The only downside was that the shower didn't work properly. There was loud banging when I turned it on and the water just spurted out sporadically. Overall a good stay and good value for money.
