Lovely gardens nicely kept.
Seating area is good and offers a gentle place to rest.
Close to seafront.

The centrepiece of Burtons St Leonards - recently renovated park in a valley surrounded by beautiful old villas and eccentric Victorian architecture. It leads down to an exit flanked by pillars that leads to the seafront. Very grand.

I have pottered around this part of St Leonards many times, in fact. Beautiful and sometimes eccentric architecture clustered around the lovely St Leonard's Gardens. Particularly like The Clockhouse at the side of the park. There is nothing specific to see here for tourists - it's an attractive set of streets just above the beach with a delightful smallish public park. Probably the place to stay if you're visiting or buying in St Leonards. Best bits:- St Leonard's Gardens and the villas overlooking it; the archway where Rider Haggard once lived; The Lawn (tiny bit of Chelsea in St Leonards); The Uplands; and that building that looks like a Scottish castle near the Archery Ground.
