Description: A large and airy dining room in this beautiful former landmark pub with an open kitchen and very informal service is a great place to relax and enjoy a good steak. You can see the dry aging beef on display and you can see the genuine charcoal grill at work on your steak. This is definitely not fine dining but what you do get is rustic, simple, homemade food with strong natural flavours.

Visited on a busy thursday evening with 15 work colleagues. Made to feel very welcome with the wine flowing from the start. Staff never too busy to help. A fantastic starter of Mackerel Pate with sour dough toast was just the ticket to prepare for the amazing main course: two 6oz chateaubriand medallion steaks with proper steak cut chips and salad with healthy sides of coleslaw and spinach. Even the sauces were mouthwatering. When I thought it could get no better I was presented with the magnificent Peanut Banofee pie...too tasty for words (many satisfactory grunts)...really could not have been better!

Despite the rather unusual colour scheme outside, the Two Bulls has an attractive and well-laid out dining room with a partial view into a very busy and professional kitchen. The staff are friendly, welcoming and efficient and the steaks absolutely delicious. The kitchen staff know what they are doing and all our meals (of course, we all wanted our steaks cooked to different levels) came out perfectly cooked and at the same time, even though the restaurant was very busy.

One of the best-value deals in Hastings. Always busy, so book.

We have walked past the Two Bulls enough times and heard so many reviews... we finally went there by chance for lunch. We hadn't booked and the old town was busy but they had some spare tables.

We were only going to order the lunch time steaks but all had a starter after our daughter fancied the mackeral pate which after tasting decided I will try next time.

All three of us ordered the lunch tile 6oz sirloin. All three were cooked as we requested and have ot say have ordered steaks in the past more expensive and allegedly bigger than didn't taste anywhere as near as good as the three we had for lunch or compare to the size as there was no waste on the steaks. Small bit of fat on the end of mine which tasted excellent and not gristely at all. Plus sauce or garlic butter included.

If that was the 6oz lunch time steak can't wait to go back and try one of the steaks off the main menu. Plus have to say the chunky chips were probbly the best I have ever tasted.

Service was great and friendly, decor plain but nice. Overall a great lunch now got to go back and try the main menu.

The food is not great. They sell themselves on steaks but our steaks weren't cooked as requested, were gristly and tough. We were very disappointed in the food and shocked by the bill. We both had mains and starters and a bottle of wine but it worked out at about £55 a head. Fine if it's amazing food but this was anything but. I wouldn't go again.

Visited today for a lunchtime meal for my wife's birthday. The food was simple but excellent. The steak was perfectly cooked and loved the chips (a few more would have been nice). Service by the two waitresses was excellent. The lunchtime specials were good value.
