Description: A large and airy dining room in this beautiful former landmark pub with an open kitchen and very informal service is a great place to relax and enjoy a good steak. You can see the dry aging beef on display and you can see the genuine charcoal grill at work on your steak. This is definitely not fine dining but what you do get is rustic, simple, homemade food with strong natural flavours.

Fantastic is all that is needed to say!!! The atmosphere was lovely, the staff were there when needed but left you to enjoy the first class steak. All four of us had different steaks, all done differently and each one was perfect and all come out together. Well worth paying that little bit extra. We will definitely be back as re-booked for a couple of weeks time.

Yesterday evening my husband and I encountered some utterly delicious food in the shape of a fillet and ribeye steak courtesy of the wonderful folks at the two bulls! At one point I had to tell my husband to open his eyes whilst he was eating his delicious dinner because he was savouring the flavour. We've done Texan steaks and this is better! We went as soon as they opened in the evening and managed to get a table thank goodness! The staff were fun and friendly and seemed to be delighted that everyone was in steak heaven. I was so so stuffed that I asked to take a slice of the banoffee back to the B&B and our host there said that if he'd known he would have broken into our room to steal it. It was that good. Thanks!!

I booked tickets to go and sea Skyfall and decided that a steak meal afterwards would be a perfect ending.
Booked a table at the Two Bulls purely based on reviews and we are were not disappointed!
Arrived late having called to let them know and were greeted on arrival and maded to feel welcome. The atmosphere was great and we were looked after from arrival until we left. The 45 day aged rib eye was cooked to perfection!
The top spot on Trip advisor is well deserved, long may it continue.

So we now understand why the Two Bulls is the number 1 restaurant in Hastings.

We visited on a wet Sunday night in the old town yet the place was still busy with only one free table. The welcome from all the staff was incredibly warm and, as others have commented, it was always attentive yet never intrusive.

Superb starters - I went for the local smoked mackerel pate with fish sourced from the across the road and my wife selected a tasty prawn (proper large prawns rather than the usual smal shrimp) cocktail.

Mains were the Angus chateaubriands that we can't recommend enough. I thought steak this good was only available in the likes of Ruths' Chris and other high-end US restaurants so it was fabulous to discover it can now be found on the south coast of England. To compliment it, a tasty peppercorn sauce although it can overpower the beautifully-flavoured meat a touch.

To finish a wedge of peanut banoffee, which has to be tried to be believed, along with a decent expresso.

So, in summary, if you are within a radius of 20 miles of Hastings Old Town, make Two Bulls your destination! We'll definitely return...

Lovely melt in the mouth steeak and fantastic chips all cooked to perfection - exaclty as ordered. Lovely atmosphere and waiting staff who initially seemed a bit 'off' but turned out to be friendly and not over attentive just the right amount. Desserts deserve a special mention as they were astonishingly good thoroughly recommend the banoffee pie.
