My husband and I visited Hastings for a weekend break and decided to visit Smugglers Adventure. We were a little hesitant as it sounded child orientated but we were mistaken.
We had some trouble finding the attraction and ended up hiking up Hastings only to find that our car was parked right near the train which takes you up the hill so it is not well signposted.
Once we found Smugglers we really enjoyed the exhibits and the atmosphere of the caves was great. You can purchase torches at the entrance but we found it sufficiently lit. There is a show which is very informative and we both learned something from our trip.
I would definitely return with our children as there are many hands on exhibits which they would love.
The gift shop is reasonably priced and has a nice range of products.
All in all a great day but wish it was a little easier to find.

We purchased a saver ticket which included the smugglers adventure, Hastings castle & the blue reef aquarium and this was definitely the best of the 3 to, visit the tunnels are well maintained and as you walk round the guided pathway's the story and models are very informative and entertaining. Suitable for all ages would highly recommend

Good place to go to kill an hour of your day.. some good info dotted about. Found most of interesting. The cave is kept clean and tidy perhaps to clean we dident really feel we where in caves so much it felt more like mock up show caves.. haveing visited a few cave attractions over the years i felt it was good and worth going but not as good as most others ive been to .. but i would recommend people go as does give some good history to the town

Went here today with a disabled adult and my son of 12yrs and me as carer and mum they loved it and loved following hairy jacks adventures and the caves itself are great to look at too and staff were very friendly and welcoming too. Go take a look for yourself if your ever in Hastings especially if you have young children too.

We arrived at a time when the caves were otherwise empty and have peace, privacy and all the time in the world to explore all of the caves, exhibits and hands-on experiences. The staff were extremely helpful and we were allowed to take photographs.

Worthwhile short visit if you are in the area, couple of hours would suffice and ok without being exceptional.Didn't regret spending our money on this attraction and could include other nearby attractions.

If you have children from even a young age they will love this place and the work carried out in recent years to make it a real experience rather than just walking through a maze of underground passages. The cave network tell a story of the smugglers that used them using lighting and visual aids something children will love.

I was taken back by how good this underestimated attraction is! To be honest I wasn’t expecting too much.. but I was very wrong...

Amazing place to take the family, interesting and informative. My wife and children absolutely loved it.
