Having read the numerous glowing reviews I was worried that this place was going to be too good to be true...it wasn't. . We were greeted very warmly by Trevor, who offered us a cup of tea, then shown to our room. Being inveterate bargain hunters my wife and I opted for a twin economy room. The room was spotless and tastefully decorated. A basket of tasty vegan snackery was also provided. No en suite as this was an economy room, but the immaculate bathroom was only a few feet away down the hall. Slept well and arose for breakfast, which for me was the highlight. There were no fewer than eight choices of breakfast cereal, fresh fruit, tea coffee, freshly baked organic bread and various vegan 'milk' alternatives. Such a treat compared to some of the usual offerings one is presented with. No stale croissants and jam in a foil thing here. Obviously being vegan I was especially delighted at actually having a choice and not having to endure an awkward conversation, being offered unsuitable food, by an irritated and disinterested host. Trevor is a cracking host and really makes you feel welcome. Let me be quite clear that you do not have to be vegan or vegetarian to visit, unless you insist on a full English 'heart attack on a plate' for breakfast. Would not hesitate to go back again, just need to find a suitable excuse to visit Hastings or the surrounding area again. The dogs are lovely as well. Highly recommended.
