I really wanted to like it here after reading the fab reviews but was distinctly underwhelmed. We were a party of three adults and a child. The person who served us seemed to be very under pressure and we didn't get the warmest of welcomes. As the cafe seemed full (but not manic), we were put in an area by the window which we then discovered only had a curtain to protect us from the elements (it was a chilly November day) and were rushed through to order. However, on the basis of the of the reviews we stayed. The fish was good but the gammon ordered was well done whilst the fried eggs were undercooked. As the chap serving seemed so distracted, I didn't have the heart to say anything. Anyway, to cut a long story sideways, I am hoping that I just got them on a bad day. The only saving grace is that we were going to go there for dinner and I am very glad that we chose a different venue and kept to our visit to the Undercliffe House to a simple lunch.
