“Like a shelter fot homeless people”
Reviewed July 11, 2013

Arrived here after staying at B @ B all over England and Scotland The room was on the top floor at the back of the building After lugging our bags up five flights of stairs I opened the door and it looked like a room in a homeless shelter. The rooms were shabby the chair was old and dirty and the floor was at a weird angle like it was going to fall down A very nasty surprise and a most unpleasant experience don't waste your money

Room Tip: Don't go there in any room

we had to book a hotel for the wedding and this was the last place we could find. we didn't read the reviews. we went in there it smelt damp and horrid we had the family room right at the top! there was no hairdryer, shampoo, nothing the beds where horrible you felt like bugs where in there but we didn't let that ruin our day we went to the wedding. on the next day when we where leaving we missed breakfast as it fished at 8.30am!!!!!! normal hotels finish at 10am!!
there was no one there to complain to. there was only a cleaner!!!!!

we went out to get breakfast out even though we paid for it there we went to the royal Victoria to pop in and say hello to your family that was staying there , we wished we stayed there it is a royal place i recommend the royal Victoria. we tried staying at Victoria but it was all fully booked and so was the white rock.

It is so expensive we payed over £155 for one night and it was a waste of money!

NEVER GO TO THE GRAND HOTEL THEY ARE RUDE AND THE PLACE IS DISGUSTING!!!!!!

SHOULD BE SHUT DOWN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Room Tip: it stinks no shampoo the only thing that is in there is a horrible bed, bit of soap , a few cupboa...

Worse place I have ever stayed, very over priced and in need of a lick of paint. No hair dryer in the room, Tiny wardrobe for three of us. The owner was the creepy and odd. We didn't get to taste breakfast as it was over by 8.30am!!!!!! Should be shut down

Absolutely shocking. Do not stay here. £100 for a totally unfit room is a poor joke and the staff unhelpful and ufriendly. Easily my worst hotel experience in recent years. Look around for alternatives...

I have seen the other reviews and read them with a tinge of sadness but appreciate every experience is different. We booked a family room for one night which was basic and at the end of a maze of corridors but clean and quiet. The reception is on the landing which we found quite amusing. The owner, Peter, was delightfully eccentric and full of chat. He stood up the the Hotel Inspector and won!

Breakfast was simple but tasty - great sausages.

It is what it is and I don't think the owner pretends it is anything else. If you want 5 star luxury then this is not it. It was in a great location and the Bay Spice curry house along the front was excellent.

Me,my wife and daughter stayed here some years ago.It wasnt Grand.anything but grand.we were showing to a room that was wonky and crooked. We could hear someone passing stools as the toilet was the other side of the bedroom wall.overpriced and in desperate need of a refurbishment, breakfast was gratefruit.have never returned had no sleep all night there as no double glazing which contributed to us hearing seagulls non stop.not very clean toilet. expected more of a higher standard as expensive for what it was.manager owner less then friendly.

all i can say the owner is a very rude man,he has no idea of how to run a hotel, after reading a few of the reviews no wonder he makes money,if people complain he chucks them out with no refunds,to me that is theft,i found the hotel was a very low standard of what he charges.the were shabby and dirty.he needs to have inspecters go in.hes has no idea of how to talk to people.my recomendation i think he should be closed down.and sued for all the money he has not refuded people,i have to say the hotel gives hastings a very bad name.would not recomend it to anyone except for telling them to stay away.marie m

Room Tip: very small and very dirty.cheap and nasty considering it was a £103 per night
