Brilliant location, everything you need in walking distance.. wonderful quirky shops, gallery, beach, pubs, cafe's and restaurants. Really cosy and warm property, beautifully presented, clean and tidy.. all Sally's recommendations were spot on.. we loved Maggie's fish and chips and the hookey pokey ice cream, The Crown and The Jenny Lind great beer.. the Judges Bakery.. fresh fish shops on the beach and the Fisherman's Museum..amazing views from the cliff...we enjoyed the Jerwood but thought it was a bit expensive (£20.00 for family ticket) and two of the best vinyl shops ever (and we've been in hundreds!!)Wow and Flutter (comics and books as well) we didn't have time to visit anymore as just a flying visit! A great place to explore.. Something for everyone..even in freezing February.. don't be put off by lack of parking space.. car park is only 5 mins walk and £3.20 for 24 hours..we will definitely try and return..
From the moment we booked the owner Sally kept in contact with us providing information & updates. The cottage is perfectly located in Hastings old town near the beach so once parked up you can easily walk to shops , pubs restaurants and the beach. The cottage is cosy & warm but retains its old world charm, the rooms are spacious so all could be together either in the kitchen or lounge. It has its own off road parking although Sally recommended only a small car can fit we squeeze our BMW X5 in so most cars will fit if parked carefully. We visited in December Sally had put up Christmas decorations to add to the homelyness of the place. We rent a cottage every year with friends & would definitely recommend this one.
2nd stay. Just as good. Immaculate house. Well positioned for all the eateries and strolls along front. Shower and super king sized bed both excellent. House is old and somehow very friendly.
Would most certainly recommend this home from home apartment; quirky, clean and the lounge very bright and airy.
Location was great, short walk to the lovely atmospheric restaurants and to the beach.
Sally was so efficient with everything which makes life so much easier!
We will definitely be returning to this property in the near future.
Thank you Sally for making our stay exceptional.
Perfectly located in a quiet backwater of Hastings old town with seafront, shops, pubs & eateries just a short stroll away. We felt at home straight away - large downstairs kitchen with huge dining table, large lounge upstairs with large comfy sofas, windows overlooking courthouse street & Micks funky junk emporium. Main bedroom a haven of peace & quiet with top quality super comfy super king bed - we havent slept as well for a long time. Excellent bathroom shower with good pressure & as hot as you like. Central heating easy to adjust with remote control in kitchen.
The only minor negative is that parking access during daytime can be restricted by the ingress onto Courthouse Street of Micks' funky junk paraphernalia, but we found that The Bourne car park was just a short walk away ( - you'll need a 'seagull clean-up kit ' wherever you park ! ) and an easily obtainable weekly parking permit from tourist info office for £30 is good value.
There are many good pubs & eateries virtually on the doorstep, one of our favourites was the First in Last Out pub further up the high street - a lovely olde pub serving excellent food but all in all we were spoilt for choice.
This will go down as one of the best weeks hols we've had in a long time
Owner Sally is obviously very proud & protective of her lovely holiday home, she is caring, conscientious, fully committed to guest satisfaction & took the trouble to ensure we had a problem free stay.
We would recommend this holiday let with no hesitation.
The house is beautiful fully decorated with great attention to detail throughout. It was very clean and also very spacious - there were 6 of us staying and we had plenty of room. The house is located right in the heart of the old town of Hastings, a short walk to all the amazing restaurants and shops the town has to offer. Sally was a great host and very easy to reach if we had any questions. We loved our stay and will definitely return.
Quiet part of old town in Hastings close to pubs, cafes and the seafront. Clean, well equipped kitchen, lovely light sitting room and excellent comfy large bed. Would definitely book again when next visiting our friends in Hastings. Nb parking is tight but squeezed in skoda octavia so free parking too.
