“Amazing breakfast”
Reviewed April 30, 2013

I went to Bills in Guildford at the weekend with a group of friends for a birthday treat. The treatment we received was amazing! Everyone was so friendly and really went out of their way to make our time there special. The food and drinks were scrummy and well priced. Will definitely be going back there in the future. I'm just sad that we didn't catch the lads name who served us as he definitely deserves a shout out.

Thank you again Bill's.

“Amazing breakfast, should have stayed in Brighton!”
Reviewed April 25, 2013

Visited this place a lot living in Brighton, food and drinks have always been great here, you can always rely on a good meal if you're willing to wait for a table. The breakfasts are amazing however the chefs are very heavy handed with the black pepper... everything is covered in it! If you're not a fan, ask for it without... streaky bacon is nice and crispy, the homemade sausages are excellent, different to normal sausages and make the breakfast stand out. French toast is also delicious. Just remember that when it's heaving, staff don't allow you to make alterations to the food - if you want poached eggs you may have to make do with fried.

Love the enamel teapots and the fact you can purchase an array of sundries to takeaway, from marmalade to olive oil to pink chocolate buttons. You can make your own hamper which is great as a gift for someone.

Bill's seems to be constantly busy, queues are often round the restaurant and sometimes out the door - not great if you are going with family as you will have to wait a long time (20 mins maybe) for a table. Not good for people that like a lot of space, you are practically touching elbows with the diners next to you but this is part and parcel of the great food. Staff are friendly, but can be hard to get their attention as it's very busy and not the place you want to go if you're in a rush to eat and leave quickly.

Angry that this has now opened in London, part of the charm was the perfect location in BRIGHTON and the fact that the produce used was supposed to be local to Brighton and Lewes!

“great atmosphere”
Reviewed April 23, 2013

We had a weekend stay in Brighton and had booked this restaurant in advance, Good job we did as they were turning people away. I liked the open feel to the place. The menu seemed comprehensive and everything we ordered was tasty and well presented.
There was a good buzz to the place and the staff were welcoming and attentive.
All in all, one we will revisit when next in Brighton

“The good, the bad & the Bill's”
Reviewed April 23, 2013

I've eaten at Bill's a total of four times and the word I'd use to describe it is mercurial, tucked away in an old fire-station the grandiose setting is where it possibly gets its delusions of grandeur from. Go to Bill’s any time of day & you will struggle to find a seat as they are already filled with the sort of people who call their mushy peas guacamole & go to the Ganges once a year to speak to a bearded bloke about the nuances of life.

The food is where Bill's flatters to decieve, if I'm going to pay £25 for breakfast & a drink for two people then I expect it to be pretty special. Alas, take away the 'quirky' food presenting all you're left with is an overpriced neatly arranged breakfast, the portions are average & for some reason the 'Veggie' option full breakfast has sweet chilli & guacamole (mushy peas) in.

All in all I'd say Bill's isn't awful by any means, many will like the quirlky setting & the food is edible but for me it's over priced & is a little to conceited for its own good, I can think of atleast a dozen other places in 100 metres radius from their that serve breakfast, granted some are worse but some are also better.
