Great traditional fish & chips with really friendly service. The fish was of the highest quality & there was a really good range of different fish to choose from. Booking for the restaurant is essential at busy times.

A long weekend at the seaside, we had to have fish and chips. But it was so cold that we didn't want takeaway to eat on the beach, we needed an eat in. We'd had a browse of Trip Advisor, but could only find posher Seafood restaurants nearby. This wasn't going to be ideal to take a 3 year old and 2 month old baby.
When we googled fish and chips, Brighton, this one came up and seemed to fit the bill perfectly. The place was full of locals on a Saturday night and we hadn't booked, but they managed to squeeze us onto a table.
The staff were fantastic, all making a fuss of our son, and cooing over the baby. They had a really extensive 'tiddlers' menu as well as loads to choose from for the grown ups. They also brought him some paper and crayons to scribble away to his heart's content.
The guy who seemed to be the owner, came out to chat to us, and also apologised when he sent my Haddock out slightly after the other meals. They also had the foresight to bring out the child's meal sooner, allowing it to cool a bit before ours turned up.
The highlight for our son has to be the selection of gummy bears he was brought after the meal for being so well behaved.
The one drawback is that it would be hard to walk here from the beachfront hotels, but there was plenty of on street parking right outside, so don't let that put you off at all.
Thanks for a delicious authentic chippy experience!

We sat in the restaurant section (which was quiet on a Wednesday night) and ordered the Bardsley Platter - a Man v Food style dish of 4 different types of fish (Cod, Haddock, Plaice and Huss) with chips and side of mushy peas and tartare sauce.

The food was excellent and the staff incredibly friendly. One of the nicest things was the sheer variety of fish on the menu that really differentiates this place from your average Chippy.

We would definitely recommend to our friends visiting Brighton in the future!

This place was astonishing, fresh and polite.

It was four of us, two couples. We traveled to Brighton to show the city to our friends - it was their first trip to UK.
We started ordering, choosing various fish - and the waitress noted that it would actually be cheaper for four of us to try the platter (I forgot the name - it's the bottom choice in the fish part of the menu). And she was right - it was 4 different fish, plus large chips at a cheaper price! We were offered variety in terms of how we want the fish cooked, we opted for grill.

The fish was fresh and tasteful, all 4 options. Chips were nice, not soggy - just perfect.
The chef even brought us a litte taster of 4 pieces of battered fish, completely free of charge. And it was as good as the grill option.

Thank you guys for the nice meal!
I highly advise to visit this place, really!

Always good, and a friendly welcome. There aren't better fish and chips anywhere in Brighton. They provide a range of fish, and cod free Wednesdays to raise awareness of ocean plunder.
