Description: Brighton's critically acclaimed Terre a Terre is a vegetarian restaurant that will have even the most ardent carnivore waxing lyrical. Situated close to the sea-front. The decor is chic and stylish, using wooden floors and furniture to contrast with vibrant colours. But here the food is the centrepiece: dhal basmati buns with coconut curry leaf chatni, better Batter and Lemony Yemeni Relish and Thai aubergine jungle curry are just a few of the exotic and imaginative dishes you can find here. To complement the food, a large selection of organic beers, ciders and wines are available. A three course meal here costs an average of £30 per person. A refreshing take on vegetarian cuisine.

It is always lovely to come to Brighton where as a vegetarian you are spoilt for choice. We have tried a few good places but this is by far the best. The food was AMAZING! We had the beautiful breads with embellishments to start (OMG! They also sell the chutneys etc and we are definitely ordering some). Then we both had the halloumi as a main - it was soooooo good. I honestly can't praise this place enough. Staff were lovely and attentive, location is good with a lot of tables but it didn't feel crowded.
Can't wait to come back!

We have dined at Terre a Terre many times and returned last weekend, having a Friday lunch and Saturday evening dinner there.

We had a sharing platter for lunch (a small portion of most things on the menu) and the battered halloumi, chips & peas (veggie "fish" 'n chips) for dinner. The food was excellent on both occasions, as was the service.

We also tried other vegetarian restaurants during our stay and found Terre a Terre to be the best by far. We will be returning.

This is the kind of restaurant that takes ingredients you don't usually like and turns them into the most delicious meal you have ever had. Every dish is presented beautifully, and the variety caters to every taste. Highly recommended, particularly for people with allergies and intolerance as I've never been anywhere so accommodating and easy.

It's become a bit of a ritual for us to visit here every year: the sharing platter is tremendously varied and tasty and the local Vermouth (Blackdown) is lovely.

But this time we realised also that the chips are really quite outstanding: very crispy, crunchy, golden bites of fresh flavour.

The smokey dried tomatoes are spectacular.

Lovely service from Vicci ("spelled like Gucci").

I wish I had known about this place the last time I visited Brighton. As it was, I ate lunch here after touring the Royal Pavilion and then came back for dinner because the menu offered so many interesting choices. Also, the wine options were an excellent match for my meals. As for the service, the staff was friendly, professional, and offered suggestions to suit my preference. Not only does this place provide wonderful non-meat dishes, the food is fresh and well-prepared (not boring, not overcooked).
