Description: Brighton's critically acclaimed Terre a Terre is a vegetarian restaurant that will have even the most ardent carnivore waxing lyrical. Situated close to the sea-front. The decor is chic and stylish, using wooden floors and furniture to contrast with vibrant colours. But here the food is the centrepiece: dhal basmati buns with coconut curry leaf chatni, better Batter and Lemony Yemeni Relish and Thai aubergine jungle curry are just a few of the exotic and imaginative dishes you can find here. To complement the food, a large selection of organic beers, ciders and wines are available. A three course meal here costs an average of £30 per person. A refreshing take on vegetarian cuisine.

This is simply one of the best restaurants on the planet. You immediately forget you're eating "vegetarian" food and just surrender to the taste experience of a lifetime. The staff are unfailingly nice and the service is immaculate. What's not to like ? If I lived in Brighton I would be in this restaurant every day; as it is I have to manage with several unforgettable visits a year. Can't wait for my next one !

we last ate here several years ago and came back here for two evening meals. both were good, tasty and filling but a few notes. I had with my daughter their taster menu from all over the menu as starters. this was truly quite exceiting with many different flavours. for my main course the revisitied rosti on a bed of spinach with a poached egg on top. This too was frlicious but somehow I felt that quite frankly I could make this dish myself which somewhat defeats the purpose in going to a restaurant,. The first night we had a wonderful soup which though it had cream in it was superb. The second night the soup was a spicy courgette soup and that was too spicy though I do enjoy curries. My wife had an aubergine dish the first night which was again enjoyable and the second night the rosti vurry which did not score highly. The choice of wine I found to be fairly limited in quality on the whites. The overall prices of the food were in line with upmarket meat/fish restaurants in London though the ambience is not ie as usual vegetarian restaurant owners think that vegetarians have rear ends that do not mind a hard seat, never spill their food therefore are given rubbish minature serviettes and dare I say it there was no sight of a table cloth ! everywhere I looked in fact there was wood which is fine except again it is implying that vegetarians do not deserve other design features. The service on the first night was strange as after forty minutes our soup had not arrived but as soon as we reminded a waitress they turned up, similar with our main courses though on the second evening not an issue. Where is the floor manager circulating the tables to ensure that dishes turn up or is it yet another aspect of the vegetarian life that they can wait for their food without any issue. Overall the food etc is well worth the visit but quite frankly it could be so much more with a bit of glitz and adventure in cuisine. why not make it a grander restaurant as the prices are there already

I had very high expectations for this restaurant and they were certainly met the minute we tucked into our sharing platter starter. With a huge selection of innovative and delicious foods we were in our element. I recommend the halloumi in batter with the chips! Scrumptious!
Thanks for a great dinner experience!

What a wonderful discovery this restaurant was. I have truly never had such wonderful vegetarian food. Combinations were exciting and it was all displayed beautifully. Quite out of the ordinary. The staff was very friendly. Wine is also ecological and tasted very well. After dinner we even bought their cook book. Nice touch is that they also ask a 1 pound donation for the homeless and how can you refuse after such a nice meal.
