Description: Brighton's critically acclaimed Terre a Terre is a vegetarian restaurant that will have even the most ardent carnivore waxing lyrical. Situated close to the sea-front. The decor is chic and stylish, using wooden floors and furniture to contrast with vibrant colours. But here the food is the centrepiece: dhal basmati buns with coconut curry leaf chatni, better Batter and Lemony Yemeni Relish and Thai aubergine jungle curry are just a few of the exotic and imaginative dishes you can find here. To complement the food, a large selection of organic beers, ciders and wines are available. A three course meal here costs an average of £30 per person. A refreshing take on vegetarian cuisine.

Fantastic variety, wonderful not to have to worry about picking from a menu which could feature 'sneaky meat'. Always varied menu, staff genuinely knowlegeable and enthusiastic about their food.

Going to keep this review very short. What this restaurant can do without meat is worth experiencing for anyone no matter how attached they feel they may be to dining out on a meat based meal. The food is beyond enjoyable, especially for a meat eater who can then claim to have been excited and fulfilled by a non meat based meal.

Firstly this a vegetarian restaurant and I am a meat eater. My girlfriend on the other hand is not and it was her Birthday so I agreed to go along and give the place a try for a family meal to celebrate the occasion.

Now to me a restaurant that doesn't serve meat is a bit like a theme park without a roller-coaster. Yes I like the waltzer and the pirate ship, but where is the main attraction? Aren't vegetables things that go WITH meat?

Terre a Terre has well and truly proved me wrong!

I didn't realise just quite how many inventive, tantalising and delicious things could be done with vegetables (and nuts, and fruits and other non meat based ingredients). There are some fabulously creative and unique dishes on offer here.

The service was good, friendly and attentive and the ambience and feel of the restaurant matched.

A wonderful, eye opening (and palette opening) dining experience, I didn't even feel the need to pop in to the kebab shop opposite afterwards to get a meat fix.

Thoroughly recommended, even if you're a meat eater - you might discover something wonderful!

Have been here many times and can't wait for it to reopen. The choice and quality is stunning and even my non vegetarian family and friends have loved it. Wonderful service and fantastic food. More please!

I have been here a few times. I think the food is always amazing, as is the service. I have read a few comments from people saying the portions are small. I am always very full after leaving. I don't think it's too badly priced either with meals ranging from £11-£15. You wouldn't pay any less for meals this quality that's for sure!
