Description: Brighton's critically acclaimed Terre a Terre is a vegetarian restaurant that will have even the most ardent carnivore waxing lyrical. Situated close to the sea-front. The decor is chic and stylish, using wooden floors and furniture to contrast with vibrant colours. But here the food is the centrepiece: dhal basmati buns with coconut curry leaf chatni, better Batter and Lemony Yemeni Relish and Thai aubergine jungle curry are just a few of the exotic and imaginative dishes you can find here. To complement the food, a large selection of organic beers, ciders and wines are available. A three course meal here costs an average of £30 per person. A refreshing take on vegetarian cuisine.

The menu requires an interpreter but this is upmarket veggie food - delicious but a price tag to match

Glad to hear you enjoyed. Yes our descriptions can be a little extensive, which we do on purpose as sometimes every element needs mentioning. But all our team know the dishes inside out and are happy to give full descriptions or help you find a dish to match your tastes - we try our best to give customers lots of choice and apply as much creativity as we can to all our dishes. Alongside the a la carte we usually have a promotional menu and a fixed price one to make dining more economical, please ask for best options next time. We are really looking forward to re-opening in February after our recent Fire in the kitchen - 2013 is looking to be an exciting year for us, celebrating 20 yrs in business with lots of new and old dishes coming onto the menu and lots more x Terre a Terre Team x

A must for vegetarians who like quality food and wine. You're very than likely to come out feeling very full. Next time I might skip the soup as that on its own was plenty.

I've eaten here a few times and it's certainly some of the best food I've ever eaten in Brighton (vegetarian or not). People will always compare Terre a Terre to it's rival vegetarian restaurant Food For Friends, which is about 200 m up the road from it. They're both quite different in the style of food they serve. To me, FFF leans more towards the "simple food cooked well" category, where as TT offers some unique taste combinations cooked and presented perfectly. In terms of atmosphere, TT has quite a classy thing going on, great for a date, whereas FFF is much more as its name suggests! If dining here I'd recommend the mixed platter to minimise your food envy of other diners. Highly recommended place to dine if trying to score relationship brownie points, although it should be for the price!

My partner is a strict vegetarian so finding a restaurant that truly caters to his dietary choice is fairly difficult outside of London. We often travel down to Brighton for days out / nights away. Terre a terre is a taste sensation & explosion. They are daring, creative, and have never disappointed our expectant palates. The food is bordering on Heston in its approach and style. The flavours, the multitude of textures, the portion sizes, all just work! The restaurant decor is a little over bearing but this adds a sense of opulence and drama, fitting of its menu and the meal experience you will get. It's not a cheap eat but like most things in life you get what you pay for and in my opinion this restaurant is priceless. Wishing them well after their terrible fire accident, and cannot wait to book a table ASAP! Keep doing your do, because you do it so well! Love you terre a terre!

Worth the journey back to Brighton just to eat in this restaurant. Veggie and tired of the same old food? Well, this restaurant will certainly awake your taste buds. Fine bouche cuisine.
