“Avarage Tapas at its Best!”
Reviewed November 15, 2013

I visit the Place last night with friends. Nothing that I will remember for sure.
Average food, not tasteful and below average presentation .
Wine list was ok but nothing to remind you a good Spanish tapas restaurant.
Service was very good, waiter explain to us everything in detail and upgrade the Don Carlos restaurant .

“Casa Don Carlos Brighton”
Reviewed November 12, 2013

This is easily our favourite restaurant, the highlight of any visit to Brighton. It is friendly, atmospheric, even at lunchtime, and the food and wine are superb. We have frequently taken friends and family there who live in Tenerife and Spain and they agree it is far better than anything they can get locally.
I would describe the food as rustic, full of flavour and unpretentious. We have eaten in tapas restaurants elsewhere, sometimes at exorbitant prices and nothing compares. The specials add variety and are always good and the most popular will find their way onto the everyday menu.
Be warned, however- it appears to turn away as many potential diners as it caters for as it is so well known locally!

“Better than Spain?”
Reviewed November 1, 2013

In our admittedly limited experience, this establishment serves better tapas than you get in Spain itself. The atmosphere feels authentically Spanish, the service is very friendly and the food is just great. Yesterday we had, among many other things, the paella and the slow-cooked lamb, and they were delicious! One of our favourite places.

“Great tapas”
Reviewed October 27, 2013 via mobile

Despite being vegetarian, there was an excellent variety of dishes to choose from. The patatas bravas and the fried aubergines slices with honey were particular favourites. Possibly the best tapas I have had, even in Spain! Great place too with excellent staff.
