Great typical spanish tapas. Very friendly service too.

Tables are close together, however this just reminded us more of the tapas bars in Barcelona.

Worth a visit, but book ahead

What i love about this spanish restaurant is the feeling of "real" spanish food, although small it reminds me of the little Casas in Spain itself.

We ate here on a Sunday evening and were lucky to get a table. Other restaurants didn't seem busy but Don Carlos was full, and the crowd weren't wrong. The tapas were carefully prepared and the equal of anything we'd eaten in Spain on holiday a week previously. Service was friendly and attentive. We left full and satisfied. Too full, in fact, to eat the rabo de torre which I'd missed out on in Spain. Ah, well, there's always next time. If you're in Brighton and peckish, Don Carlos is a good choice.

I have enjoyed Casa Don Carlos for over 15 years with visits over the last few years about 3 or 4 times a year.

If you like tapas served in a friendly and lively environment then this is your place. The quality of ingredients is always good, size of tapas excellent and cost a place that you can just pop in for 3-4 tapas between two or a 8-9 if there is 4 of you and if you are a larger group so much the better you can try many more of the tapas.

Whilst a small venue compare to some the turnover of clientelle makes it worth the wait in the pub next door. If you want a great night out and love food go to this wonderful restaurant that I never tire of.

We needed a quick meal before going to a gig last night and wandered down the lanes and found this great place. We had seen it before and thought it looked authentic. Perfect food and really excellent service, could not fault a thing. We had 10 dishes between 4 of us, filled the table but perfect amount of food. We did opt for one of the specials which was chirozo flambé in rum which was amazing the best of the tapas and all the other dishes were just as special.
Great value too, £80 with an excellent bottle of Rioja, fabulous!
Just wish we didn't have to rush off, it would have been lovely to just sit there and eat all evening. People' go to this restaurant, you deserve it!
