Description: Voted 'Best Restaurant' in the Brighton Foodie Awards 2012Good food Guide 2013Food for Friends restaurant in Brighton has been in the vanguard of vegetarian cuisine for more than twenty five years. Set in The Lanes, Brighton’s most happening district, Food for Friends has slowly spread over three shop fronts, developing a labyrinth of brightly lit, modern dining rooms kitted out with stylish minimalism, some overlooking the bustling lanes outside. Cuisine from around the globe is created using predominantly local, organic ingredients, some delivered by bike. Vegans and those with food allergies and intolerances are well cared for here. Wines are organic and mainly vegan, coffee is fairtrade, and an irresistible afternoon tea is served.

“Full of flavour”
Reviewed September 19, 2013

I am not a vegetarian and when my dad suggested here for lunch I was not overly excited, however when we got there we all had the most amazing food. I have to say it was probably one of the best meals I've ever had and would definitely recommend to anyone fancying something different. Their food is full of flavour and you don't miss the meat.
Lovely!

“Amazing tastes!”
Reviewed September 13, 2013

It shouldn't and doesn't matter whether you are a meat eater or not because the quality of the food from here is excellent and the tastes are delicious. So if you enjoy really good food this is a sound choice.

Service was great too - friendly and helpful. Cost was not unreasonable either.

“expensive tasty food”
Reviewed September 12, 2013

Very very steep prices, so do watch it there please.
Tasty food, some of the starters mixed together are cheaper, slightly, than bothering with a main course. Three times cooked chips are magnificent by the way. Tasty and nice, service was polite, interested, with no problems. They offer you a questionnaire on leaving, to see if you had a good time or any problems, etc.
So expensive and very wine bar orientated, not used to such places in the north of England but that is more common in Brighton. Nice ambience all round, no complaints.

“Outstanding vegetarian dining”
Reviewed September 9, 2013 via mobile

I've been vegetarian for 24 years & this is the best veggie restaurant I've ever been to.
I had 3 courses (soup of the day - butternut squash, Warm mild ewe’s halloumi salad & Creme Brûlée) each course was beautifully presented & tasted divine. In particular the Halloumi salad was fantastic, the mango & halloumi complemented each other really well.
The service was great; attentive but not overbearing.
Can't wait to go back and try some of the other dishes.
