Description: There's nowhere better to tuck into some fresh fish 'n' chips than by the seaside, and The Regency Restaurant on the King's Road is the oldest seafood restaurant in Brighton and Hove with ocean views. Famous for its fresh fish and lively atmosphere, the restaurant has become a dining institution with both locals and visitors from out of town and boasts a cheery red and white tiled terrace that looks out over the West Pier, and a cosy dining room perfect for leisurely lunches and relaxed evening meals. The Regency Restaurant serves everything from locally caught fish to lobster, oysters, mussels, Dover sole, crab, prime Scotch steaks and a variety of vegetarian options along with an excellent wine list.

7 of us visited on a Monday evening, recommended by one of our group who lives in Hove.
Nice place, good atmosphere, nice wine and everyone enjoyed their food and the evening.
I had scallops followed by swordfish and a stunning sticky toffee pudding to finish.

Moët with starter and a reasonable Sancerre with the mains.

Good value as well and friendly service

Would visit again when in the area.

This restaurant was recommended to us by the Concierge of our hotel and we were not disappointed. Menu is Italian/Seafood themed with good choices for vegetarians. Daily specials depend on the fish available. We both had the Scallop and bacon starter and this would have done us easily as a main course had we ordered it with a side salad. Yummy.

We turnd up here with in a group of 8 friends. We got a table in the middle straight away.

The menu had a great range of seafood at very good prices for a location right on the sea front!

The food was perfect and food portions were very big. Service was friendly, quick and efficient. The only thing about the whole meal i would fault was the chips were not great. I have had a lot better but they were not awful.

Would go again

This restaurant offers we think, less than standard fish and chips fare, nothing outstanding. A dish of fisherman's basket was delivered, the fish was passable, the scallops (2) were coated with an inch thick coating of batter thus the poor scallops were murdered!, mussels the size of peas, chips dry and tasteless. My partners dish of cod and chips were passable. All in all not a great gastronomic experience. We understand this is a well known Brighton fish and chippery, well we certainly wouldn't recommend it.
