This is the best place to eat in Brighton. My American friend said it was the best place he eaten at on his recent trip that had included top London Restaurants. This is a small intimate restaurant . The food is excellent with an ever changing menu, something for everyone, it is not large but still I have difficulty choosing.
Everything is cooked to perfection. The bread is always enjoyable, hot and delicious Do try the souffle an absolute delight..

Went a few weeks ago to treat my Dad for Father's Day. Have been many times over the years and as usual, it was perfect. The food was cooked to perfection and the flavour pairings were unusual, interesting and really worked. We had extremely attentive, polite and friendly waiters. Easily the best restaurant in Brighton and would recommend to anyone.

Not been to the Gingerman for a while and the food was better then ever.

I started with duck tongue, beautifully presented and even better on the palette.

My main of wood pigeon sublime. Again the presentation was faultless and the flavones surpassed that of the starter.

I opted for cheese for dessert. What initially seemed a meager portion turned out to be the perfect amount. Not your usual bland supermarket offering. Each had bold flavones that somehow complimented others on the plate.

Whilst £77 per head may seem expensive everyone had what they wanted. The quality of the food was exceptional. Highly recommended.

We came to this cosy place for their Sunday Lunch Menu and we will most certainly come back for their dinner menu soon. The food was not only very well presented, but also interesting, stimulating and well composed.

First, as an amuse-bouche the kitchen sent out some leek potato soup followed by some bread with a very nice truffle oiled butter. Normally I'm not a big fan of truffle oil, but it certainly was good fit here. We took some tuna tartar with watermelon and squid ink as starters and these were not only really well presented and prepared, but also nicely refreshing.

Afterwards, we had some duck egg curry and some lamb. Especially the duck egg was nice treat, releasing its liquid treasure in order to boost the curry as a perfect company. Also the lamb, the perfectly cooked vegetables and the flavorsome sauce were delicious as well. Certainly traditional, but with very balanced (≠ boring) and rich flavors. The portions were surprisingly big, so you won't leave hungry even after only dishes. The level of technique/skill of the kitchen is high and the menu offers are nice and interesting insight into modern British cuisine...

The only thing one might object is the very cosy interior design. It certainly creates a very familiar atmosphere, which however can be intimating for some people. Service was very friendly and attentive and the value/money ratio of the Sunday Lunch Menu is simply outstanding.

The best restaurant in town, always have a great time.

Souffles are worth going for just on their own.
