Excellent food and great service - we were a table of 8 but that made no difference to the quality of service received - first class.

Very good food, very well produced and served by very friendly staff. A small intimate restaurant, which can get very booked up in advance, but well worth planning ahead for. A regularly updated menu of local, seasonal produce is always interesting and delicious, and their signature dessert souffles and homemade icecreams are not to be missed.

The Gingerman is part of a group of restaurants that have gained a reputation for fine food. Based on the experience my wife and I had it is well deserved. The food and its delivery were outstanding. The menu is small but everything we tried was prepared perfectly. The restaurant is very small and they only do one seating for dinner so booking is essential.

This restaurant produces very very good food but after reading the rave reviews I had built up this picture of a fabulous restaurant with good food great atmosphere plush decor and surroundings and amazing staff. The first one is there the others mmmm ok average but no wow. The restaurant is tiny so you are a little cheek to jowl lined up on both walls. Each time our 'neighbours got up to go to the wall their bottoms would take our salt pepper napkins etc etc. We didn't really mind and took it in good humour. The niggle for me as it is a tiny place that being placed 2 tables of from the door you are still within arm reach of the door and every time someone came in or the steady stream of diners who nip out for a ciggie we all got a cold blast of air. For the price of £100 for two of us the food was certainly up to the price tag but there are plenty of other restaurants at that price level where they have a lobby or entrance area away from the door and a little bit of room around your table so that you dont have to listen unintentionally to others conversations no matter how interesting it is and they your conversations lol. The service was ok - quite normal for a good restaurant but nothing out of the ordinary . This place is like a good book but had a good plot (or food) but you know that you probably wont read it again not because you didn't like but merely because you don't need to. Glad I came though
