Description: Curry Leaf Cafe serves up award-winning South Indian street food, expertly spiced curries and a wide range of international craft beers from a relaxed, colourful dining space in the heart of Brighton's bustling Lanes. Its range of quick and healthy lunches include soups, warm salads, dosas and open tandoor naan wraps, as well as traditional thali platters. The dinner menu, meanwhile, focuses on crisp, fresh-tasting street food and fragrant curries, rounded off with a selection of refreshing Indian desserts and infused ice creams. The ingredients used are seasonal and locally sourced where possible, and around half the menu is vegetarian. A wide selection of vegan, gluten- and dairy-free dishes is also offered, along with home delivery seven days a week via our partner Deliveroo. Curry Leaf Cafe was named a 'Local Gem' in the 2016, 2017 & 2018 editions of the Waitrose Good Food Guide and won 'Best Newcomer, South Coast' at the 2015 Asian Curry Awards.

Had such a lovely meal here. The chutneys are fantastic and the paneer curry served with potato stuffed naan was something else.

So rare to find such lovely food at reasonable price in a nice environment. They've only been open for a week so they're still quiet. I suggest getting in there whilst you still can. In a couple of months it will be fully booked!

Went here on a Friday night and was absolutely astounded. I've never been a huge fan of curries (probably the anglicised type) and I was so blown away by how delicious the food was. The balance of flavours was perfect and you can tell how much love has been poured into this newly opened restaurant. The staff were extremely attentive and friendly and the restaurant has a great atmosphere with its vibrant colours. Definitely not your average Indian restaurant, very highly recommended.

Newly opened on Ship Street, the Curry Leaf Cafe serves up authentic South Indian street food. While the menu is far smaller than you're accustomed to in an Indian restuarant (with just I think 7 main dishes) - everything on the menu seems to have been conceived with immense love and care! Last night I had a chicken do pyaza, which was just fantastic... large pieces of unbelievably succulent tandoori chicken in a thick and perfectly spiced sauce. It comes with homemade pickles & sauces on the side; and a delicious cumin naan that seemed made for the curry. My companion had a spicy sea bream stew... with rice a fantasticaly sharp homemade lime pickle. It's impossible to taste this food and not want to come back and try every dish on the menu. Which I certainly intend to do!

Apart from the food there's also a great selection of craft beers and they're promising to be offering an Indian weekend brunch menu soon, which sounds delicious. I can't recommend this place enough... go and check it out!

Had first meal last night. The food was amazing, great flavoured authentic Indian Street Food, it looked and tasted fresh and home made, even the chutneys. Attentive, friendly staff, with an warm and cozy atmosphere. Will be going back soon to try the lunchtime menu. Get in quick before this restaurant gets very busy.
