After reading all the wonderful reviews about this hotel we were very much looking forward to our stay here. The location is scenic and within easy walking distance of everything. The hotel is situated in Regency Square where there is an abundance of other hotels, all in various guises of presentation and standard.
The hotel is very unique, with modern, abstract furnishings. The bar looked welcoming but pricey and hence was always empty. The breakfast dining area was gorgeous and so was the food which was tasty and plentiful. All staff encountered were efficient and friendly.
Check in was fairly standard and our room (Neris) at first seemed absolutely fabulous. It was certainly large enough with some unusual furnishings. Any movement in the hallway and you certainly know about it.Its creaking floors make it sound as if someone will imminently come through the door but it is an old building i suppose.
The bed was large and comfortable but quite low as most modern beds are but it does not make it easy to get out of.The bed ended up spoiling our enjoyment of the room as romantic couples should be aware, the slightest movement and this bed creaks and squeeks so embarassingly and annoyingly. The bathroom was sumptuous which looked new with a stand alone bath with a shower attachment which was next to useless as it had a toothbrush like head and only sprayed water at an angle and was awkward to hold, just not very practical. No air conditioning either which i was surprised about as rooms at this hotel are not cheap.Housekeeping need to sharpen up their act too as walking in and findind a pair of the previous occupants dirty socks on the floor is not what you expect, neither is leaving their cleaning utensils in the room over night, sloppy !
The things above can be improved but they did take the edge off what was otherwise a splendid hotel. We would stay here again but in a different room next time.

Room Tip: All rooms are different but unfortunately i cannot recommend the Neris room.Do your research !

Originally booked hotel at Marina that we stayed in before, but changed our mind last minute and booked Una instead. Very good decision! We booked the loft room but given an upgrade on arrival (thank you!) to Orinoco. It was large, lovely having a living area as well as bedroom, and very comfy. Yes the floors were squeaky but did not bother us and couldn't hear other people's sqeaks from upstairs just when we walked around our room. It wouldn't put me off coming again, lets put it that way.
Great location, 5 mins to shops and about 15 mins walk to Brighton pier. We walked along the prom to get there to browse all the hidden shops and bars under the arches.
Hotel has a beautiful bar and super friendly staff. Couldn't do enough to help. Even made up drinks that weren't on the menu. Lush brekkie. We had it in bed the first morning which was nice not having to rush but was better eating in the restaurant on 2nd morn - you get more options.
Would defo recommend and come again. I want to try all the rooms!!

Staff is really friendly, location is great (though not in the "center").
Wifi works very well.
Small things that could make the hotel even better: a holder / table for toiletries in the shower; glasses to put toothbrushes; a breakfast buffet.
Also there was a BIG problem in our room (top floor): the seagulls. Hard to believe but they make a terrible and loud noise and do not stop at night (at least not in July).
Even with the velux closed impossible for me to sleep without earplugs.
Hotel should really look at installing some spikes on the roof :-)

Could not fault a thing. The staff, service, hotel design & decor, ambience, location, price.
Exemplary.
Reasonably priced (£20 for two nights) Parking Garage on the doorstep.
An extremely enjoyable stay.

We stayed at Hotel Una for a few nights for our honeymoon and we were so impressed. The Danube room we had was a spacious, modern and stylish suite with freestanding bath, big enough for two!, an over-sized comfy sofa, large flat screen tv, radio with ipod connector, excellent coffee maker and so much more. This is one of their more expensive rooms and so in some way you would expect these types of facilities but it did not disappoint in any way. The highlight of the room though was the floor to ceiling patio windows and view from the balcony - big enough for us both to enjoy a glass of bubbly on with our feet up. To top off the experience the staff were friendly and nothing was too much trouble. The breakfast was top notch too with my husband claiming their eggs benedict to be the best he's ever had and he has had alot! We were so impressed we went back for a breakfast a few days later and they welcomed us like old friends. Excellent facilities, lovely staff, a sea view, close to central Brighton, great cocktails and wonderful breakfast. What more could you ask for? Highly recommended for locals (breakfast meetings, cocktails with girls or a treat break away from the kids for a night) and visitors a like. Check it out. :-)

we only stayed for one night but thoroughly enjoyed our stay, the staff were all extremely helpful, friendly and very polite, the Eden suite was very spacious with a lovely view of the derelict West Pier,we would highly recommend this hotel and i personally think that they deserve their No.1 spot as the best hotel in brighton.
