“Unbeatable location & gardens, and a great host.”
Reviewed June 7, 2016 for a stay in May 2016

This flat is in an elegant regency terrace with fabulous communal gardens down to the sea. Parking was very convenient and cheap. There was a great café just around the corner for breakfast. It is a bit of a walk into the centre of Brighton, but it's an attractive walk with plenty of shops, cafes and pubs to help you on your way.

The only downside is that the lounge is small and windowless (as is clearly shown on the photos). Although small, the lounge was comfortable, and the internal corridor leading to the courtyard helped the flat to feel lighter and more spacious than you would expect in this type of basement flat. We had a friend to stay for a couple of nights on the sofabed, and it worked out fine (I would find the flat a bit too small for 4 adults for more than a couple of days however).

The layout is practical and the flat is well thought out and nicely furnished. Katherine is a truly excellent host - prompt to reply and very very helpful. I cannot recommend this flat highly enough. We will be back.

“Magical! ”
Reviewed June 2, 2016 for a stay in May 2016

We stayed for 3 nights and really enjoyed it! Flat was spotless on arrival and Katherine had set up a lovely travel cot for our 3 month year old daughter. Flat was ideal for the three of us. Flat comes with access to beautiful gardens-you can walk through them to sea and then either walk into brighton or catch the volks train. The nearest cafe marmalade is definitely worth visiting! We would stay again without hesitation! Thank you Katherine!

“Cosy and clean little apartment near Brighton Marina”
Reviewed May 19, 2016 for a stay in May 2016

We are from Germany and stayed in Brighton for 5 nights with two little children (4.5 and 1.5 years old). We chose the apartment because of all the good reviews and weren't disappointed. Katharine was very friendly and also replied to initial Email contact promptly.

The apartment might be a bit on the small side when travelling with children but me spent our time mostly outdoors. It is well equipped and clean. We didn't use the sofa bed as a bed, as our big one was "camping" in a sleeping bag next to us in the bedroom and the little one slept in the double bed.
There is a nice little outside space which we didn't get to use as it was raining sometimes and we were so much out and about. There are also a numbre of games and dvd's. Apart from a puzzle we also didn't have time for them but they're also a great idea!
There is a washing machine but no tumble dryer which should simply be considered when travelling with little children (we moved on to London from Brighton and had to do some washing once).

The garden outside (access with a private key) are really lovely, I told our son about Alice in Wonderland. It is only a short walking distance to the beach and the promenade. On foot it takes maybe 20-30 min to get to the city centre (pier, shops etc.) depending on how fast one walks. Little children might also like to take the little train which stops close to the Marina and runs along the beach. The Peter Pan Playground next to the beach was a favourite with my children! A large ASDA can be reached quite simply (either on foot or by car) and provided for everything. Around the corner is a also a nice little cafe (Marmalade) which shouldn't be missed.

Overall we really enjoyed our stay in Brighton and Katharines apartment and would definatively recommend it! I only hope our noisy kids didn't disturb the elderly lady living next door. Thank you again, Katharine!

“A cosy, luxury Brighton retreat set in a beautiful Regency Square by the sea. Perfect!”
Reviewed March 14, 2016 for a stay in March 2016

I came to stay here with my Labrador as a travelling companion and was looking for somewhere that allowed dogs, close to Brighton centre, near the sea, access to gardens, private, pretty and cosy. Magical Brighton Apartment fulfilled all of these. I felt at home straight away and the apartment was wonderfully tucked away in a corner of the beautiful Square with the sparkling sea in view. It was beautifully decorated, all mod cons and yet retaining the charm and stunning character of the building. The private gardens which one can access as a guest, lead straight to the seafront and are just amazing. My couple of days here were the perfect retreat from life at home and recharged my batteries. My son, who is a student in Brighton, and I, enjoyed a great lunch at Donatellos and actually sat outside as the sun shone. On my first night at the apartment, he came round to join me for dinner which we cooked there. I heartily recommend the apartment for anyone wanting to come to Brighton but also enjoy some peace and quiet. Katherine, the owner, was most welcoming and provided everything one could need, including a bottle of wine and milk in the fridge!

“Fabulous Stay everything we needed and made to feel very welcome”
Reviewed March 14, 2016 for a stay in March 2016

Thank you to Katherine for a lovely welcome giving us recommendations of local pubs cafes and restaurants as well as buses and supermarket we were very well informed. We loved the quiet location a retreat from the busy happening centre. We would recommend this romantic quaint apartment to friends and family. With everything you need to cook breakfast and cd and dvd player great for a bit of back ground music. Lovely lit terrace with great mural. With added attraction of the gated gardens and tunnel to the sea. Parking reasonable too thanks again would come back if we head to Brighton in the future.

“Very disappointing accommodation for more than 2”
Reviewed March 12, 2016 for a stay in September 2014

We expected a whole basement apartment, it split into at least 2
Outside ..not a pleasant place to sit, dark, smelled of dog poo and lots of flies
We invited our son to stay .IT WAS EMBARRASSING! The sofa bed is dreadful, we ended up putting cushions on the .Shared shower room clean but not ideal to share. There's a sep toilet
No window in the living area!!! only through door to yard was as much light Son still refers to it as the long dark We were quite shocked ,based on few other reviews. Ok for 2 and dogs but in our discerning opinion not comfortable for 3+ adults
Thank goodness the weather was lovely, We could spend as little time inside as possible
the positives were the weather!! Bedroom / bathroom clean and pleasant, living area really let the place down if you are more than a couple. Good location /,gardens opposite/ near beach
We visit Brighton often but would not wish to stay here again......sorry for late review

Management Response

I want all my guests to have a wonderful stay and if I had known this guest was unhappy I would have offered them an upgrade to a larger apartment. I am not sure of the exact problem with the sofa-bed but it is a quality piece of furniture from Debenhams. The courtyard is open to the sky and has lights in the decking and wall. The only animals that can access the courtyard are those brought by the guest themselves and it is cleaned after each stay. The facilities and accommodation are clearly described and pictured on the website and are exactly as shown.

“Suburb luxury apartment close to "enchanted gardens".”
Reviewed February 28, 2016 for a stay in February 2016

Dear Katharine,
Thank you so much for the milk, sparkly wine, and warm welcome at your suburb apartment, so close to the sea front and all that Brighton has to offer. The tunnel leading to the "enchanted gardens" was truly magical, so unusual, despite the February weather. We were amazed how very warm, quiet and exceptionally pretty, your amazing apartment was. A haven to return to with such an iconic address, after our days out. A real treasure for me was that our two dogs were allowed to accompany us, your consent and trust in allowing them was wonderful. Look forward to a return visit soon. Elaine, Tony, Roxy and Misty xx.
