“Ambassador B&B”
Reviewed November 25, 2012

The Ambassador B&B in Brighton was a beautiful place to stay and our only disappointment was that we couldn't stay longer.
The staff were lovely and our rooms beautiful and well fitted.
Would most certainly go again.

We stayed here for one night for a hen weekend. It was really difficult finding a hotel that only let you stayed for one night, but we were grateful to find this hotel. the location is perfect with it not being too close to all the night-life but not being too far either and everything is within walking distance. we arrived early at the hotel and the staff were very friendly and let us store our bags while we went off to look about. When we came back to check-in the bags were already in our room which was a nice touch! We stayed in the family room on the ground floor and the room in general was clean and the sheets/bed linen was clean!! i do agree with some of the reviews and the carpet was very stained and could do with being replaced (keep your socks on!) and in some areas is looking a bit tired.- BUT if we wanted a nice plush 5 star hotel then we would of booked one! you get what you pay for and it suited us for what we wanted - just a place to sleep! Very friendly staff though!!!!

Had a good 2 night stay at The Ambassador. Room was clean and the feather duvet and pillows just pure luxury! We were on the top floor, lots of stairs and not a great view at the back of the B & B but that isn't a complaint just an observation. The en suite was behind a sliding door in the room ... odd but adequate. Would definately use again.

I've stayed here several times over the last ten years and it has always been enjoyable. The rooms are always clean and spacious (some more than others), though for some the fantastic breakfasts will weigh heavily in their own deliberations.

Nick and his team are also great supporters of The Brighton Festival, participating in their own small way by staging plays in the basement dining room in the evenings.

Recommended as long as your expectations are realistic. This is not the Ritz and it doesn't pretend to be, it's an honest, friendly family run hotel.

Room Tip: Now that would be telling!

I agree that the bed linnen and bathroom is clean. The deocor howvere is very tierd and run down, mismatch furniture like grannies old house. Hall ways grubby. The hotel was full of a group of Euorpean youths when I stayed who made considerable noise late into the night and kept running up and down the stairs to each others rooms. The hotel staff apeared to do nothing. Fire alarm kept going off all night as said youth dismantled smoke dectectors in the presumed attempted to smoke in their rooms - standing outside at midnight in the rain. Please take my advice find another hotel and leave this stags and hens - a real rip-off at the price.

Room Tip: Do not stay here this is not a 4 star hotel.

Enjoyed our 2 night stay at the Ambassador right in the heart of the town. Our room was clean and spacious with a shower room well equipped with hand wash, shampoo and shower gel. We also had a good sea view. The Pork breakfast was disappointing but other options were fine. We would go back.
