“Quaint little shop, but could do with a makeover”
Reviewed January 13, 2014

I stopped in here for brunch on a Sunday. The shop itself is quite "cosy" and has a mish mash of non matching chairs, and small tables with too many chairs. It seems like they would try and get as many people in as possible.
I had a toasted cheese and tomato sandwich and a pot of tea, my friend had poached eggs on toast and a can of coke.
The team was very nice, I was offered English Breakfast or Earl Gray and I went for the English breakfast. Both meals were ok, not bad but nothing special. There wasn't a great deal on the menu, although the cakes on the counter did look lovely. The bill came to about £15 so not too bad.
Nothing really to complain about but not somewhere I would particularly go back to.

“Cute but room for improvement”
Reviewed January 2, 2014 via mobile

Visited this tea shop for the first time today. Admittedly it's quite cute but the food could do with improvement. Was very disappointed with our poached eggs which had obviously been done in a microwave & the toast was barely toasted & whilst my crumpets were nice & thick again they were barely toasted. The cakes however did look lovely & were obviously home made. But if there is one thing i would definitely recommend it would be that they don't use butter portions but use a little pot like they do with the jam.

“Greeted by Guernsey in Brighton!!!”
Reviewed November 25, 2013

Absolutely loved this little teashop. Service was brilliant, was greeted/served by a VERY helpful smartly dressed guernsey waitress who couldn't have been more lovely, Food was just what you'd expect from a vintage tea shop and to top it off the music fitted the atmosphere of the 1940's style cafe, could done with a bit more swing and jazz thou!
Toilet were a bit disappointing but the rest of the shop made up for it.

“Something different”
Reviewed November 4, 2013

We were at a writers convention for the weekend and decided to try something new, a little tea shop for half an hour away to chat and have a cuppa. Lovely little place, full of vintage and nostalgia and smartly dressed waitresses, it was lovely. We had the lunch menu, which was quickly and efficiently served and we were left alone to leave in our own time. I'd go back, most definitely (though the 40s music got a bit wearing).
