Had a great meal at Jolly Poachet last night. The place has been completely transformed - really inviting place to sit. Food was amazing - all three courses cooked to perfection. Particularly enjoyed the scallop starter. Service was very good - only negative was that specials board above bar wasn't pointed out to us at start and we hadn't noticed it! Hope this place does well - so good to have something like this locally. We will definitely return.

Lovely space. well cooked, interesting food well worth a trip slightly out of town. Not cheap but well worth what is charged, this is head and shoulders above not just only most pubs, but most restaurants in Brighton too.

Well done.

We were disappointed when our nearest local pub became more of a restaurant, but we had one pleasant evening here, which encouraged us to come back. However our most recent experience was awful - over-priced wine can be tolerated if it tastes good and the ambience is right, but with a surly un-smiling manager and small children screeching, we say "NON". Back to the proper locals - the Railway and the Open House. Please try harder Jolly People if you want to win the affections of Roundhill residents.

Popped in here for lunch on a cold Saturday, did manage to get a parking space after driving around quite a bit. Had read reviews from Brighton restaurant guides, and wasn't disappointed.
We had the set lunch menu for 2 courses £13.95 each. First up was a wooden platter of some specialist breads. We both had the Leek and Roqufort tart for starters, it was really tasty and light, delicious. I decided to try the Sea Bream for my main course as I have never had it before, it was gorgeous, great choice, my husband had the Pork Belly, and he thoroughly enjoyed that too. Lovely 'Gastro pub'. It was a treat, and would highly recommend it.
A bit of 'Masterchef' on a plate...the good bits, that is! With great service.
Will definitely return in the evening next time and have a bottle of wine with the meal.

The food is very good without being too poncy ! , the wine is very good as well , and prices are about average for Brighton , our bill for 4 people was £150 all in with drinks and service and if you like your ale they do a very nice pint of Harvey's .
We shall certainly return here ( especially as it is only 15 minutes walk from home ) if you are visiting Brighton (as millions do) this venue is not in the centre of town , but is only about half a mile off the well worn grockle trail (A23) , any decent sat nav will get you to their door , and the surrounding streets still have free parking.
