Was taken here by people who live locally but had not tried it. They won't be doing so again in a hurry. Our Eastern European waitress was sweet but poorly trained and, lurking in the background, a Cruella de Ville lookalike who wore a gold standard scowl. The food was fine and so was the wine - or what little we could get of it. We eventually left in search of vino elsewhere. Life's too short to hang around in this rather unwelcoming former pub. Not long for this life, I fear.

Recently taken over - was previously known as The Roundhill. We had received their sample menu through our door and to be honest we had felt it to be a bit expensive for a local restaurant, however friends had been and had highly recommended. We were prompted by the availability of a reasonably priced set menu for early evening diners. My partner, who knows about such things, described the cuisine as modern European with Classic French influences - sounds about right. We were both delighted with our meals which were imaginative and delicious. I almost always throw more seasoning on my meals, but half way through realised I hadn't even thought about it - a testament to these chefs who can cook. The service was friendly but at times lacked confidence.
