“Ideal for a Weekend”
Reviewed May 13, 2013

We were pleasantly surprised once we got into the hotel should have used the walkway from level 6 car park.Staff very attentive,.Room was lovely great few of the Marina could have done with another chair so we could have both sat out on the balcony.great shower in bathroom. Not much storage space, fine for a weekend, but not if staying longer.
We really enjoyed an excellent breakfast looking out on to the marina lovely big pot of coffee, again staff were very pleasant.
bus stop around the corner takes you straight into Brighton.great choice of places to eat at the Marina too.Free parking makes all the difference. Will certainly be down to stay again, we found a little gem !

We stayed at the Seattle Hotel for a couple of nights over the bank holiday weekend and were impressed by the modern, classy and clean design of the building. The bar and terrace area is a definite asset, looking out to sea and providing a stylish and comfortable place to relax. The clean look maybe goes a bit too far in the rooms which are a bit too white and bare feeling for my liking. The minimalist style even negates the need for tables and shelves which are replaced with an ikea looking storage system that is fitted to the ceiling and floor using adjustable telescopic bars. The bedroom doors are made of wooden slats (much like an airing cupboard!) which does very little to block the noise of people walking up and down the long corridors.

We went to breakfast both mornings and were keen to try the 'award winning' breakfast that sounded really delightful on the menu, however their was a huge queue at the door and very little progress was being made. On both occasions we stood for ages waiting for a table to be allocated with no drink or anything else to pass the time only to find that the problem wasn't that the breakfast room was full it was merely that they didn't seem to have anyone available to clear the empty tables which were all heaped up with dirty crockery and napkins. It does make you wonder whether they could have some tea and coffee making facilities available in the waiting area so that you could sit and wait in some comfort!?

Once we finally got seated, they took our tea, coffee and toast orders which again took ages to arrive at the table. Then they took our cooked breakfast orders, we both opted for a full English breakfast minus the black pudding and tomatoes which was correctly executed however the menu gave you the option on how you wanted your x2 eggs cooked, yet both morning we noticed that everyone who ordered a breakfast was only given x1 egg per person. When I pointed this out to the staff they didn't seem shocked by the fact that we had noticed their deliberate ploy and scurried off to get us some extra eggs. I can understand cost cutting but at the prices charged by the Seattle for both the room and the breakfast its pretty poor behaviour. On the last morning I ordered a cumberland sausage breakfast rather than the standard pork option, however when this arrived incorrectly, the non-english speaking waiter had no idea what was being said to him and ended up coming back with a plate full of yet more pork sausages all of which got left on the plate as we just gave up trying to resolve it.

I think that the management at the Seattle need to seriously think about how this place is run as bank holidays are nothing new in this country and given the size of the hotel I don't feel that any of the services were that particularly unexpectedly stretched!? They have a nice modern hotel, with a lot of things going for it, not to mention the great location yet some poor decision making seems to be letting it down!

We have now been to this hotel 4 times during the last 18 months and have had a lovely stay each time. Staff are friendly and helpful. The rooms here are lovely and clean, we had a marina facing room which was fantastic. Breakfast was really nice and even though it was very busy the staff remained friendly and helpful. If you are looking for somewhere relaxing and peaceful then this is the ideal place to visit. We hope to visit again in the next few months or so.

We stayed 2 nights over the May Bank holiday at this lovely hotel for the first time whilst visiting friends in the area. We checked in with ease and given a very warm welcome by reception. We were allocated room 101 which is a Sea view facing room which we had booked, and we were not disappointed at all. A beautiful light airy double fronted window room with doors leading onto a huge balcony over looking the whole of the marina. It certainly had the wow factor! The bedroom and en suite were spotless and clean, and with everything you could possibly need.
We were booked on the spring deal package which was B&B basis with dinner on the first night. Dinner was very good indeed, food quality and presentation was excellent, even though service was a tad slow. The food served for breakfast was hot and tasty, however the on the 2nd morning the service was a total shambles. There seemed to be no organisation what so ever between the staff, tables left uncleared and dirty, whilst a huge queue of people waiting to be shown to there tables with no explanation or apology for the long delay!
Check out again was with ease and satisfaction, and we would definitely stay at this hotel again in the future. It is perfect location for getting out and about enjoying the marina life with a vast amount of local shops and pubs/restaurants close to hand. Local bus journey into the centre of Brighton took us approx 15mins and cost just over £4.00 for a day rider.
Great weekend, at a great hotel!

Room Tip: Room 101 - Marina view with double windows and doors onto huge balcony.

We loved it here when we visited last time but this time it was unbelievably bad! It was a busy bank holiday weekend and one night was dominated by a big party in the hotel. We could only get an inland view room (not recommended)! The bar and other service areas were dreadful. One poor bloke serving whole bar - he was untrained and out of his depth plus we had to wait a VERY long time to be served warm white wie. Not enough staff on duty and a very sad feel to the bar! And even worse, the bar was a tip! Dirty and unorganised. We asked to see a manager on the second night as the service/general housekeeping was so poor . We were told that no manager was on duty and they said all the staff were over stretched! On our last morning the bar and terrace area were digusting with overfilled ashtrays, dirty floors with loads of debris. Need to pull their socks up!

Room Tip: Only go for marina view room. Inland view depressing and overlooks asda car park!

Superb hotel. Brilliant view of the harbor. Room was perfect and the hotel overall is absolutely spotless. Access to various shops and taxis to take us to Brighton. Breakfast was excellent full English and able to have Cereal and plenty other foods as extras.Free WiFi available. Staff very friendly and helpful and the bar i believe is stay open if people are still in bar. Will definitely use this hotel again for future trips to Brighton.
