“Always a nice welcome and tasty food”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 7, 2013

Had a lovely late Sunday lunch here at the end of April . Always good value food using top quality ingredients. Staff are always very friendly and attentive. Went with a large crowd of family and friends ages from 12 months to 65 years and everyone thoroughly enjoyed the belly pork and the roast beef! children always offered a good choice of meals, the fish and chips and bangers and mash went down a treat! relaxed atmosphere, good outside space and yummy chocolate brownie birthday cake ! Thank you for making the birthday so special !

“Talented chefs excellent food in a friendly relaxed pub setting. Exceptional”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 28, 2013 via mobile

This place is a real find. They know what they're doing. I had an exquisite fish soup followed by roast cod with miniature gnocci, walnuts and saltanas and a date and toffee sponge with ginger ice cream. My companions had a delicious pigeon breast and heavenly mulligatawny with ox tail. Really this place ranks highest on my list for great food. The bonus is it's priced like other pub food but it's not like other pub food.

“Love it perfect for relaxed dining excellent food”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 9, 2013

We moved around the corner a few months ago...and visiting the Cuthbert is becoming a regular treat. It's relaxed and unpretentious but the food is top restaurant quality! If you can dine on the set price menu you get excellent value. I love every meal I've had there, and there is an extensive wine list and interesting choice of beers and ales. Not your average pub by any means.

“Refreshingly good gastropub”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 20, 2013

Gastropubs have become so samey. This one's different. Accomplished cooking, refreshing and interesting flavours, good presentation. More fine dining than comfort food/hearty pub grub (at least judging by our meal this evening); so if you go there hungry you might consider ordering extras. Many wines can be ordered by the glass or carafe if you don't want to stretch to a bottle. The menus offers abundant choices for all 3 course. The fixed menu of the week, which is very good value, offers choices of 3 starters; 3 mains and 3 desserts AND includes a glass of wine or pint of ale. We will definitely be back.
