Great place, always busy but the service is excellent. The staff really care about the quality of the drinks they are preparing and will tip them away when they aren't happy with them. We were really impressed. As a non-coffee drinker I was pleasantly surprised to have a great choice of loose leaf teas. My husband, a coffee lover, rates it as some of the best coffee he has drunk. A must if in Brighton or at Brighton Station.

Discovered whilst staying at the adjacent hotel. Really great coffee, flavour spot on without extra shots. Staff were slick with good service

You'd think there wasn't room on the high street for any more coffee shops - until Small Batch came along! Wonderful coffee - rich, flavoursome - you don't need extra shots like you do with Starbucks et al. Nice ambience, good deco, friendly staff.
The only downside is the food offering - it's trying far too hard to be 'hip, organic, local & trendy'. Massively overpriced - about £2.50 for a 10cm length of overly herbed sausage roll?! They're really missing a trick on the food offering - real shame.
But the coffee is lovely and once you've had it you will steer well clear of Costa, Starbucks etcetcetc...........

Surprised by how poor the lattes and cappucchinos were, stale, tasteless, but pretty. Staff were unfriendly and resentful, maybe it's just bad on the weekends?

There is nowhere like Brighton for independent coffee shops the whole city is packed with them. This is one of the better ones but in Brighton you are spoiled for choice, a bit like Melbourne Australia, there's a real coffee culture in this city. The seats are a bit uncomfortable at SBCC that's my only complaint.
