just pop in, take a sit if you are lucky enough (on Fridays and Saturdays it is a nightmare) and just relax. If you are up for a beer there are two options: the packed ground floor or outside on the top floor. If you're starving, go up to the marvellous first floor among ancient but amazing furnishings imagining to live in the XVIII Century...Food is quite good, but it depends on the chef...Sometimes so-so...

Fantastic interior and popular pub, on more than one level, with outdoor smoking terrace, and cosy Restaurant area upstairs. Can get very busy, has a jaz and. Quiz night each week. The downside is the quality and choice of the food. The burgers are boring, and the chips are of poor quality. The steaks are often too over cooked, and the presentation and ingredients need improving.

This is a very busy pub but once we tasted the food it was obvious as to why. We had a short wait for a table which was fine as it gave us a chance to have a drink at the bar.
Our table was set cosily next to the fireplace. The slow cooked pork belly with root vegetables was delicious and a very generous serve. Service was attentive and helpful. Coffee was also very good.
