I stayed here with my family. Thank you for the charming experience. Location, staff, services are outstanding! It is close to the shore and the downtown. Sunday lunch was awesome. Brighton is a beautiful city and this is a nice hotel. Definitely recommended.

Have a good day.

The standard of service and the politeness of the staff were the highlights of our stay here. The room was well fitted but too small for the money charged. We ate in the hotel restaurant for convenience, none of the food was freshly cooked which at the prices charged it should have been.

I thought that I had spent too many years travelling to want to ever set foot in an aircraft or a hotel ever again, but I really enjoyed an all-too brief stay at the The Hotel du Vin Brighton. The antidote to soul-less chain hotels, it (somehow) manages to combine the best of individuality and professionalism. The staff are well-trained and welcoming without being 'in your face', the Bistro is a delight, and the rooms large and well-equipped. Location is perfect and it even has (its own) Pub next door serving a mix of excellent draught beers. 10/10

Hotel impressive on arrival, staff were very helpful. Once I had parked the car in the NCP we eventually settled down for a good Sunday lunch, very enjoyable in a busy Restaurant. Our room was a superior double at the top of the hotel, the bathroom was spacious as was the room, HOWEVER the bed was an absolute nightmare the mattress was lumpy and squeaky the pillows were hideous and I think they have been there as long as the hotel!! Time to buy some new bedding...... Shame as everything else was excellent.

Room Tip: Check the bed out before unpacking!!

A family party, afternoon tea, friends and relations staying over, Simon and his staff could not have done more to make the stay and the event more special. Those who had never been to Brighton before have been utterly spoilt in the best hotel in town and won't ever want to stay anywhere else.

We were very impressed from the moment we were warmly greeted at reception and our bags taken to our room. The hotel has loads of history (obvious from the winding oak stair case, and the different floor levels), but the management have cleverly blended modern technology and conveniences without destroying any of its history.

Room Tip: We prefer to sleep with windows open and AC off. The only noise we could hear was distant revellers...

The hotel building was full of character and the food was excellent. The staff were very polite always apologising for everything. All the staff must be trained to just apologise . We were apologised to for being over charged at the bar, kept waiting at the bar, not being served at the tables in the bar , not being informed about breakfast options , dessert not arriving and having to ask for it and finally no bread with my friends meal. All very well and good but it somehow felt rather hollow. Also only a few of the lights in my room worked. Its an overpriced hotel in an excellent location. All staff were very approachable and pleasant but the service was littered with mistakes .

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
Hotel du Vin Brighton is situated in the Lanes conservation area, a pebbles' throw from the seafront. Its 49 bedrooms are housed in a collection of eccentric Gothic revival and mock Tudor buildings erected, appropriately by a wine merchant on the site of an old inn. Among many interesting features are a heavily carved staircase and bizarre gargoyles, while the original double-height hall now houses the wine bar and Laroche tasting room. The perfect venue for a picturesque wedding or party is the impressively large and airy Dome room. For the best tankered of local ale, Pub du Vin is one of Brighton city center's treasures with its classic pub dining. Out with the Brighton hotel is the wonder and inspiring town itself, with quaint streets dotted with fabulous shops, and of course the famous pier and promenade. ... more   less
