A very good example of the du vins, I have also stayed at Newcastle, Winchester and Birmingham and visited others in the chain- this was the best for service.
All of the staff were friendly, helpful and seemed pleased to serve their customers.
Hotel is in a great location, moments from the seafront and town.
The 'pub' du vin is a good choice for a casual relaxing meal and the waitress we had (im afraid I didnt catch her name but she was from Latvia) was superb. Food is simple but tasty and good value.
Room comfortable and modern, decor simple and tasteful.
No parking but there is an NCP 5 minutes away that is secure and you get a discount card when you check out of the hotel.
I would stay here again if visiting Brighton.

Our stay in this hotel for just one night was lovely. The facilities were perfect, the bath room exquisite and the staff could not have been more friendly or accommodating. Dinner and breakfast were delicious (the freshly pressed orange juice the best I have tasted). We love Brighton and we will not hesitate to stay in this hotel again.

I've stayed in Brighton a few times on business. This was by far the best. After attending a conference all day, the hotel bar was both luxurious and relaxing. Well mannered staff tended my orders efficiently. The room itself was a captivating mixture of Victorian and contemporary stylings which blended effortlessly together creating a grand look with modern functionality.

Later in the eve, I ate in the neighboring Pub Du Vin, which fielded equal results of staff attentiveness and excellence.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and would heartily recommend it to anyone looking for that little bit extra on their next seaside excursion.

Stayed at Hotel du Vin on business (training course at Roche Burgess Hill). Very comfortable hotel and as advertised 'quirky'. Great location and luckily great weather so able to stroll along Brighton front morning and evening. the hotel bistro was excellent and only round the corner from Jamie Oliver's. Don't know if value for money as was paid for by Roche. All in all an enjoyable few days.

What good is a great location, interesting quirky rooms or anything else for that matter if you can't sleep. The " new mattresses" in this not inexpensive room turns out to be a box spring without a mattress on top once I stripped away the bedding to see why I spent a totally sleepless night. In response to my complaints, I got an apology and some bed pads but what I really crave is a mattress. I guess that is too much to ask for.

I stayed 2 nights in HdV in Brighton. The hotel is fantastic. It enjoys a superb location close to the beach and is in just a few minutes from the shopping area. I booked a superior room that comes with a huge bathroom including a shower and a nice bathtub. Nespresso is en suite and is free of charge - that was a pleasant surprise. The staff was extremely nice and helpful.
Both the bar and the bistro made you sitting in and tasting through the entire menu. The food was delicious and there is a healthy range of quality wines to choose from however it made me worry that a large proportion of the wines were from the new world. Anyway, mostly I stayed with wines from the classic European wine regions. I was very happy to find wines on the list from my home country :)

I would definitely choose this hotel again for my next visit to the town.

Room Tip: They don't use room number but the use names of wineries. Drouhin is a good choice.

Tend to always use HDV when staying in brighton as location is very convenient to explore and had another enjoyable stay . This time went for basic room which was clean comfortable although a bit noisy . Reception staff very helpful and friendly , service in the bar is a bit hit/miss in evenings when busy . I would say its time for a bit of an uplift as certain areas looking tired/worn

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
Hotel du Vin Brighton is situated in the Lanes conservation area, a pebbles' throw from the seafront. Its 49 bedrooms are housed in a collection of eccentric Gothic revival and mock Tudor buildings erected, appropriately by a wine merchant on the site of an old inn. Among many interesting features are a heavily carved staircase and bizarre gargoyles, while the original double-height hall now houses the wine bar and Laroche tasting room. The perfect venue for a picturesque wedding or party is the impressively large and airy Dome room. For the best tankered of local ale, Pub du Vin is one of Brighton city center's treasures with its classic pub dining. Out with the Brighton hotel is the wonder and inspiring town itself, with quaint streets dotted with fabulous shops, and of course the famous pier and promenade. ... more   less
