Description: THE ULTIMATE EXPERIENCE IN TRADITIONAL HOME COOKED GUJARATI AND OTHER INDIAN REGIONAL FOOD. We began selling our home cooked food from our grocery shop in Lewes. The reaction was so positive that it inspired us to sell fresh, as well as frozen food throughout shops in Sussex and Surrey. We expanded the business and moved to Station Street in Lewes. Further success inspired us to open CHAULA'S INDIAN RESTAURANT IN LEWES 2007 AND IN BRIGHTON 2012. We believe that Indian cuisine is a combination of subtle taste. Flavours are as varied as the climate and exotic as the people of India. The appreciation of spices and combination is an acquired art and can only be achieved after many, many years of studied blending, cooking and tasting. At Chaula's, value our patron's opinions and concerns in the modern day world of health consciousness- our scrumptious food is prepared only with Sunflower Oil that is low cholesterol and freshly ground spices, without the use of artificial flavours and colourings. WE ONLY USE FRESH CHICKEN AND MEAT. I have worked very hard to perfect this fine art without compromising on taste and authenticity. We are confident that after sampling our culinary delights you would agree that there is nothing but the best at Chaula's. We take pride in welcoming you again and again. WE ARE RENOWNED FOR OUR SIGNATURE DISHES. "THE FOOD OF INDIA, NOT JUST INDIAN FOOD" We hope you enjoy the experience. -CHAULA & JANAK

Had another amazing meal at my favorite, and probably the best indian in town.
We turned up without having booked and was soon seated at our table for two. Its always a pleasure opening the menu here where you are presented with a choice that is different from the norm and plenty of authentic vegetarian options too.
The staff are all really friendly and are up for a chat and a laugh which makes for a great atmosphere.
I'll be back again soon!

Having eaten here several times now, today's meal was again superb. Very authentic Indian unlike the very English/Indian mess you get in most Indian restaurants. Good food, friendly staff and a great atmosphere, what more could you ask for

Easily the best Indian in Brighton. Authentic, varied and tasty menu choices combined with a brilliant atmosphere and fantastic, friendly service. Will defiantly be visiting again soon. A true gem in the crown of Indian restaurants.

Choose this restaurant from looking at trip advisor, service was not with a smile. The starters of mash balls where very strange, and fried fish at £5.99 unbelievable. Mains where no better chicken very rubbery , I could go on about the food but I wont. I found the service strange too, a guy with muscles popping out of his shirt and a girl behind the counter very stone faced. It was like they had a argument, it was quite intimidating so did not complain. I also found it expensive for what it was, I am a regular at Indian restaurants but won't be going back here.

Went here for my husband's birthday. Restaurant very quiet when we first arrived but soon filled up as the evening went on. Some more unusual meal options which was nice and a wide choice for vegetarians. My husband wasn't overkeen on his main but overall meal quality was good. Service a little slow which was a bit of a gripe with the automatic 10% service charge added to the bill.
