Description: THE ULTIMATE EXPERIENCE IN TRADITIONAL HOME COOKED GUJARATI AND OTHER INDIAN REGIONAL FOOD. We began selling our home cooked food from our grocery shop in Lewes. The reaction was so positive that it inspired us to sell fresh, as well as frozen food throughout shops in Sussex and Surrey. We expanded the business and moved to Station Street in Lewes. Further success inspired us to open CHAULA'S INDIAN RESTAURANT IN LEWES 2007 AND IN BRIGHTON 2012. We believe that Indian cuisine is a combination of subtle taste. Flavours are as varied as the climate and exotic as the people of India. The appreciation of spices and combination is an acquired art and can only be achieved after many, many years of studied blending, cooking and tasting. At Chaula's, value our patron's opinions and concerns in the modern day world of health consciousness- our scrumptious food is prepared only with Sunflower Oil that is low cholesterol and freshly ground spices, without the use of artificial flavours and colourings. WE ONLY USE FRESH CHICKEN AND MEAT. I have worked very hard to perfect this fine art without compromising on taste and authenticity. We are confident that after sampling our culinary delights you would agree that there is nothing but the best at Chaula's. We take pride in welcoming you again and again. WE ARE RENOWNED FOR OUR SIGNATURE DISHES. "THE FOOD OF INDIA, NOT JUST INDIAN FOOD" We hope you enjoy the experience. -CHAULA & JANAK

I went here the night before my wedding for the 1st time, a risk well worth taking. It looks great in there, it has a feel of the fun side of real India, no flocked wall paper here. I am half Indian and hand on heart this as close as you are going to get to home cooked Indian food. All hale the elephant ears (rolled vine leafs). the staff were great to.

an superb eating experience, the food is very well spiced and authentic. The service was not the fastest but on an evening out I do not want to be rushed anyway. I would say its defiantly on par with the chili pickle but not as heavy on the pocket. Superb Chili and Garlic naan breads and would definitely reccomend the lamb rajasthasni

Food was very tasty and had the right amount of spice for an indian palette.
Maybe because it was a sunday evening, delivery of the food took long. Would definitely go back, probably at a time when I will be less impatient!

Absolutely lovely restaurant. I would recommend to locals and visitors alike. The food is always beautiful and to top it off, there are plenty of options for vegetarians, gluten free peeps etc. Service is great - the staff are ALWAYS really friendly and helpful. If you are planning to go, book a table - it can be very busy and you don't want to miss out!

On our recent trip to Brighton we dined at this authentic Indian restaurant. The food was excellent and the staff were very attentive. One of the best curries i have had....and i've had quite a few! I would highly recommend !
The only down side would be the 10% added service charge.
