Description: THE ULTIMATE EXPERIENCE IN TRADITIONAL HOME COOKED GUJARATI AND OTHER INDIAN REGIONAL FOOD. We began selling our home cooked food from our grocery shop in Lewes. The reaction was so positive that it inspired us to sell fresh, as well as frozen food throughout shops in Sussex and Surrey. We expanded the business and moved to Station Street in Lewes. Further success inspired us to open CHAULA'S INDIAN RESTAURANT IN LEWES 2007 AND IN BRIGHTON 2012. We believe that Indian cuisine is a combination of subtle taste. Flavours are as varied as the climate and exotic as the people of India. The appreciation of spices and combination is an acquired art and can only be achieved after many, many years of studied blending, cooking and tasting. At Chaula's, value our patron's opinions and concerns in the modern day world of health consciousness- our scrumptious food is prepared only with Sunflower Oil that is low cholesterol and freshly ground spices, without the use of artificial flavours and colourings. WE ONLY USE FRESH CHICKEN AND MEAT. I have worked very hard to perfect this fine art without compromising on taste and authenticity. We are confident that after sampling our culinary delights you would agree that there is nothing but the best at Chaula's. We take pride in welcoming you again and again. WE ARE RENOWNED FOR OUR SIGNATURE DISHES. "THE FOOD OF INDIA, NOT JUST INDIAN FOOD" We hope you enjoy the experience. -CHAULA & JANAK

“Fresh tasting, good value curry”
Reviewed April 14, 2013 via mobile

Visited here twice and will definitely return. Nothing fancy about the place but the food from the fairly compact menu always taste fresh and the service is always good, when you add these ingredients to decent prices it makes the decision of where to eat curry in Brighton a fairly simple one.
Enjoy...

“Disappointing”
Reviewed April 13, 2013

Went there last weekend.5th April. Always looks nice from outside. Decor and staff were friendly but the food in our opinion was poor. I ordered a chicken dish that came up as lamb and was changed. It then came back and was very very salty and couldn't taste the flavours due to the salt. Popadoms were tasteless as was the stuffed nan. My husbands lamb rogan came up to spicy hot and had to be changed.we may try it again one day but for now we will admire the outside.

“Not what we were expecting but...”
Reviewed April 9, 2013

We had been recommended to a South Indian restaurant that used to be at the same premises. Fortunately Chuala's do a Masala Dosa which is a Kerala speciality and a personal favourite. It was quite on a Monday night so the atmosphere was a bit cool but the food was anything but. Poppodums were not very fresh but the Dosa was excellent. They do some different dishes here and the chicken dish in a Pistachio and Fennel sauce was well cooked with no colouring and good texture. My wife had a salmon dish which was rather drowned in sauce. Service was attentive.
