Went here for a friends birthday. It's very small but perfectly formed. We booked for 8, arrived with 6 and ended with 10 of us. They happily put up with us being a bit haphazard and helped arrange us. The starters looked good but we went for the mezze plates which didn't have much of a gluten free option so not sure about them. However the mains were great. On ordering they know of gluten free and were confident in what they were serving. We had a range of meat dishes, all of which were very good. The lamb as cooked to perfection. I will absolutely be visiting again soon.

It's also BYO!

Not sure about other days but if you want to visit on a saturday night you'll need to book.

(ah, and if it's your birthday let them know - fantastic for a laugh)

Went this evening for dinner with my partner after reading some reviews. The place and the ambience are nice, fairly clean, staff were informal but very kind. We liked the food especially the starters and the main course. Less the dessert, at least mine. It was supposed to have rosewater syrup but it did not taste at all of that. It was good but not "different" as I expected. Second, we ordered the Ghaymeh Chicken and found it delicious (try it) but one of the ingredients was missing (fried potatoes). I believe they were supposed to be on top of the dish but we were told they were mixed in (somewhere). I think they were definitely missing.
All in all a place that deserves a second try.

There are a lot of glowing reviews of Kambi's here on TA & i've personally longtime been a fan of this place for their excellent takeaway shawarma's which are tasty & good value, so decided to try a sitdown meal with my wife (who is vegetarian & was particularly keen to go there as they specialize in V dishes) one sunday afternoon.
Unfortunately it was a diferrent story & all i can say is we left feeling pretty cheated & dissapointed. Her dish (Badomjan) was a pile of rice on a chipped plate with a small bowl served seperately containing about two bits of aubergine floating in a thin tomatoeish sauce which was thoroughly tasteless/un-delicious & was more like a small starter in quantity. I had the charcoal mixed grill, served on a not everso clean plate, which was three different kebabs with rice & token garnish. The meat was ok but just totally plain tasting and didn't seem to have been marinated or spiced with anything in particular. Also as a side dish we ordered a yoghurt salad - this comprised of a bowl of yoghurt with some chopped cucumber in it which was £4 (not impressed).
All in all for £25 really quite a surprising dissapointment - we were expecting something much better from kambi's. Maybe we just got them on a bad day who knows ; I'd go back there for a takeaway shawarma, but it's doubtfull i'd bother to go back for a sit down meal there again.

It's take your own wine, but the food was tasty and filling. Staff helpful in recommening separate spicy sauce - a good move! Pleasant surroundings. Never had Lebanese before but wouldn't hesitate to try it again.

I was here earlier in the month for a friend's birthday. I'd heard good things from others and was looking forward to the menu. We were around 12 at the table so I appreciate it can be a juggle to time the food well and provide good service. This was made particularly difficult by one of our party being spectacularly late but they still managed to accommodate the late order and slow ours down sufficiently to bring food to the whole table at the same time, credit where it's due this was very well planned.
Unfortunately the down-sides were in the form of one or two dishes. In one case two starters of hummus were delivered without bread and without any sign of this changing after 10 - 15 minutes we had to hunt some down ourselves from a slightly unwilling waiter. The second issue was that although four of us had ordered the same main course - shish tawouk - one of them (mine) was absolutely soaking wet, almost as if the salad had been recently washed but drained at all. This unfortunately left the grilled chicken swimming in water and it took a tipped plate and two napkins to soak up the liquid before setting about the dish. Had we been in a smaller party I would certainly would have sent it back. It did still taste ok but the experience wasn't pleasant. The other three dishes were fine though.
Other than that and as other people have pointed out it is BYOB which reduces the bill considerably. Do take your own though rather than forget and pop out for it - the nearest off-licence has hiked its wine prices in readiness for those who don't come prepared! (Add £4 to any bottle bought elsewhere).
Overall and as the review suggests, it could have been great - just a couple of elements that let it down. I would certainly return though.
