“Overpriced, and when we say everything is OK with our meal, we don't need to be asked another 3 times!”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 26, 2014

We were in Brighton on a cold and windy supposedly Spring day - only made it half way along the pier before seeking refuge here for fish and chips (the only thing to eat at the seaside, it's the law!). We were seated quickly and our order taken promptly. Service was good. The plaice was enormous! Cod smaller. Chips ok; a little dry and some annoying scrag ends on my order that I would expect maybe on takeaway but not in a restaurant. We were asked 4 times by 4 different waiters if everything was ok with our meal, which was quite annoying! The prices are high; maybe this comes from the affiliation with Heston Blumenthal, although I don't think the quality reflected that. Restaurant slightly dull and dated, could have done with being brighter to combat the grey skies outside. Great location though, and probably lovely on a summer's day to sit outside and watch the world go by. I'd have preferred eating from the paper on the beach, but it wasn't meant to be!

“Nice Location - Average Fish & Chips”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 17, 2014

The restaurant has a great spot - right in the middle of Brighton pier. Fish and Chips were good and the "big fish" was as described. Mushy Peas were disappointing & stone cold.

“Palmed off!”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 13, 2014

Heston says that Brighton Pier is 'the spiritual home of fish and chips', and Palm Court does much to perpetuate this. However, this is no indication that they are any good. At £2.75 for a 'tray' (no, really!) one would expect Mr Blumenthal himself to pop up behind the counter and serve you a menagerie of chip shop delights. Instead, you are slowly scooped up some under cooked chips by a server who has dispensed of the overused friendly customer service cliché and does not even afford you a nod of acknowledgement! Stay for the sea views, walk up the pier with chips from somewhere else.

“Mainly good, some disappointments”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 10, 2014 via mobile

Came as a family of 7 adults and 1 child today. Portions are fab, and you would hope so too for the price!! Only problem, ordered a fishpie which was off!! Stunk as soon as first mouthful was about to be taken, waiter was lovely, however when the mamager came over..aggressive nature! If you cant get fresh fish by the sea then theres a real problem..
