I had the pre show dinner at 12.5pounds for 2 courses.

The scotch egg starter and minute steak main were both well done. The steak was nicely charred and flavourful.

Worth a visit.

Return visit after having an amazing burger last time. Can confirm they are still great but I went for the lamb rump with sweetbreads instead.

The lamb really was top notch. Succulent and full of flavour with just the right amount of fat. Cooked perfectly with a slight pinkness through it. Sweetbreads and veg all good to.

The chococlate and hazelnut delice with peanut and praline bits was great but the blood orange and ginger cheescake with honey ice cream was better. Last time they had great desserts too and they have all been changed since which is good to see. Keep it fresh people!

Just under £60 before service for burger, my main, two desserts and three large glasses of good wine. Comparable price with a gastropub so think this is great value. This place can be expensive if you start hitting the steak though :)

Good service and all the touches you expect from a nice restaurant like this.

Top notch food with friendly yet efficient service saw this Brighton back-street venue busy yet with a bunch of satisfied customers

Steaks are plentiful & well cooked right through from med-rare to well done

Chips & cauliflower cheese recommended

Try it....it's really rather good!

Having not eaten out in Brighton for some time I chanced upon this restaurant via a Top 10 Restaurant Guide, you realise you are onto something good when they are almost fully booked days in advance asides from a 6pm table in first sitting. The owner was on hand in this bijou restaurant to oversea excellent food and attentive service levels. If you want to enjoy a restaurant that is able to serve both London standard steaks as well as fish do give this a go but book early. I can totally recommend the banana, waffle and condensed milk sundae which was superb.

My boyfriend brought me here for Dinner last week and I had the burger, which was really good and he had the Jacobs Ladder short ribs, which I eat most of! Wish i had them as the meat was so tender and lush!

Thanks boyfriend and thanks Coal shed for a great memorable meal.

xx
