My Husband, myself and 2 friends enjoyed a very different eating experience at this super restaurant. it was like walking into a theatre setting, with lots of seating including private boxes to eat in. We arrived at 7.15 and were shown up a small flight of stairs to our box. It was cosy with red curtains and a candle on the table, plus a good view over part of the restaurant. The staff were very friendly and attentive and we were shown menus from which we chose the 50% offer that has been on since they opened in January. The starters were varied and all one price as were the mains and the sweets. various breads and butter were brought to the table and i and our friend requested the soup of the day which was leek and potato, both of us agreed that,it was sadly barely warm. We ate it and thought we would see how the rest of the courses went. My Husband opted for the Mussells in garlic sauce which he said was beautiful, another friend had the stuffed mushroom which she enjoyed. Our main courses were filling and hot and well presented and the sweets were also original and tasty. Mine was chocolate log filled with cream, poached pear, ice cream and a lovely raspberry couli. The mens drinks included Pimms, a bottle of Piot grigio and liquer coffees, us girls do not drink and so we enjoyed bitter lemons and coffee to finish. The total bill was £86 inc the 10% service charge. We were suprised that there was a service charge as we believed that this was only added on for a party of 6 or more. We were so fortunate to be entertained by the wonderful Debbie Bridge Opera singer and actress. She was an absolute delight and sang several times at our table and we chatted to her in between. She performed 3 sets during the evening and had a fun personality as well as a magnificent voice. She also sang a song from Oklahoma and les Miserables, a versatlile lady. We had a really great evening and cannot wait to return. Our Son and his partner are keen to visit "Little Bay" and we will be taking them asap. The menu is even more reasonable if you visit before 7pm but the live Opera is only evenings and from Wednesday to Saturday inc. Breakfast is also served from 7am and a full English is under £5. Children are also welcome. Brighton needed something different and this fab restaurant certainly is.
